Hi
I am Jamie Wilby also known as Buffyslayer1 on most poker sites. I had a thread on 2+2 for coaching a few years ago and below you can see the various feedback I have received.

I have been a poker professional since 2012, playing predominately at the midstakes level and have coach hundreds of players over thousands of hours during this time. In the last few years I have focused mainly on coaching for various stables including BitB staking before it closed down.
In the last few months I have been working on developing and utilising hand2note for database analysis of a player’s game.

Database analysis

To explain in more detail hand2note is an advanced poker tracing piece of software which allows you to build custom stats for each situation in poker.

Through the range research tool we are able to see in extreme depth and compare the player’s game to both GTO and population as a whole.
An analysis will be conducted on the player’s sample of hands (at least 100k hands needed) across all the key lines both preflop and postflop. Preflop stats are benchmarked against GTO preflop solutions, postflop statistics are more tricky and for this I have used my own library of solves run to a high degree of accuracy with multiple sizing to calculate rough GTO frequencies. This gets somewhat complex on later streets. As the number of flop types and turn + river as we go down the game tree gets exponentially large. Here I use a range rather than specific number plus experience from other strong player’s tendencies to ascertain where a player is significantly outside of GTO play.

In addition to this, player’s stats will be compared to population tendencies of their player pool as well to highlight potential exploits available. Sample size of the student’s database will determine how deep down the game tree these can be ascertained as clearly the smaller the sample to begin with the further down the game tree we go the harder it is to get meaningful date.

All key lines will be covered with regards to comparison with GTO and population data, the list below is not exhaustive and there are additional lines which can be of value but again depends on sample size.
Preflop major standard preflop situations by position and stack size will be covered compared to GTO and also population tendencies for exploit potential.

I won’t list them all here but on request I can provide via PM. Including the standard RFI, 3 bet, 4 bet, squeeze, cold call and in depth focus on blind versus blind play.

Postflop deep dive on SRP as both aggressor and caller, multi way pots as both aggressor and caller both players.

3 bet pots as the aggressor and caller both OOP and IP
Blind versus blind play, both the RFI and limp call, limp//check nodes. Limp re/re-raise node where sample permits.

In addition to this I have been working on board texture specific analysis for the major postflop areas of SRP as Preflop aggressor and caller and 3 bet pots as aggressor and caller. In future I plan to add blind versus blind play by texture as well, though very large samples would be needed to analyse this correctly.

Final we will asses redline play, stage of tournament as well as stack size considerations and win rates to narrow down specific study areas/stack sizes.

As you can see the overview is quite comprehensive and below is some screenshots of the reports used with username of player and GTO numbers blurred out.
If you have any further questions on this please either ask in the thread or PM me.

V RFI example

BvB preflop example

IP RFI example

OOP caller example

BvB postflop example

Board texture example

Board texture is used on any common spot where we have a sample to analyse.

These are just a few of the reports used to conduct analysis and show the level of depth we will consider.

1-1 coaching

In addition to this I am offering 1-1 coaching. Typically session early sessions will be HH reviews and leak finding exercises. Future sessions then tend to focus on specific leaks, where we will work on understanding the mechanics of what drives GTO play in a specific situation rather than trying to memorize GTO outputs. This is neither possible for a human nor the optimal way to learn poker.

In essence we are trying to improve a player’s poker IQ rather than memorize charts and outputs and have players think for themselves using the underlying mechanics of GTO play to drive our strategy.

Be warned if we take coaching sessions you will be required to do work both before and after sessions. Where I will review and assess + answers any questions you have about the topic at hand. My view has always been that coaching is not a magic pill and you won’t really learn anything or improve unless you are willing to work on the topics in hand independently. Being curious about situations in poker exploring them, using solvers as an experimentation tool asking questions and trying to get to the truth of what drives a situation is what will make us better equipped when facing situations on the table.

This is especially true in MTT’s where we don’t have or rarely have a perfect solver situation where everyone has 100bb and ranges preflop are static etc like a cash game. In tournaments there will be mixed stacks everywhere, ranges preflop and postflop will be fluid, we have ICM and also bounty factors then layered on top of this which makes the game incredibly difficult. Which is why I believe have good fundamentals and a solid poker IQ are going to be way more beneficial than trying to regurgitate as solver output.

In addition to this a lot of focus will be given to late game play in general and ICM pre and postflop as this is the most crucial stage of any tournament and the one where we actually make our EV. This is a common area where lots of recreational and even many regs have huge leaks which are burning $ev.

Hopefully this has given perspective students some insight into my style and philosophy of teaching and what to expect when we conduct sessions.
In previous years I gave a discount to students who purchased a block of 10 sessions, however going forward for those that purchase a block of 10 sessions in advance. They will get the full database analysis with a value of $300 for free. This will then serve as the basis for the direction that our future sessions will take.

If some reason once the student has received the analysis, their game is strong enough that they don’t really need to use the package of sessions or they have a couple of sessions and decide my style of coaching is not for them. Then I would provide refunds minus the cost of database analysis and minus cost of any sessions taken.

If there are any questions at all please feel free to drop me a message and I will answer as soon as I can.

Thanks Jamie/Buffyslayer1

I worked closely with Jamie in a stable coached by assassinato , not only is he excellent at playing MTTs he's also an excellent coach and very likable person. He's very patient and attentive to all students and is a steal at these prices.

I would just like to recommend this to anyone. I've worked with Jamie for a long time and can easily attribute all of my success to him; he transformed me from a losing player to playing poker profitably as my job. He is always well prepared for lessons, gives you materials and recommends software so that you can study yourself after lessons. He is great at explaining things clearly and eloquently and is very patient and won't belittle you if you don't grasp a new concept straight away.

I got the opportunity to discuss Jamie's thought process and approach to mtt's when he instructed a live class,The Mid-stakes MTT Class, for my site. It was a sold out event and Jamie did a phenomenal job explaining his strategies for topics like value betting, bluffing, blind play, restealing, cbets, barreling, bet sizing, and adjusting these concepts for the different stages of a tourney. He has a talent for putting his ideas in an easy to understand concepts, and the feedback from the attendees was enthusiastically positive.

Jamie could charge double and it would be great value, at this price it is a no brainer.

I have been working with Jamie for more than a year now and dont feel like stopping any time soon. He turned a mindless breakeven micro grinder into a thinking midstakes player. Jamie has the ability to clearly channel his message to any level of player and will adjust to any learning speed.

Every lesson with Jamie is exciting because he always brings or reveals something new about the game or finds even smallest leaks in your game. I had countless AHA moments when Jamie reveals a play which shows huge profit and allows me to exploit outdated regs. He is always studying the game, improving his play and is not afraid to share the results with his students which allows regular students to always be on top of their game.

At this price I would suggest even low limits players to invest in these lessons because they are so cheap and even a couple of sessions will improve your game a ton. While for regular players which dont have a coach I feel its a must to try atleast a few lesson. Even if you feel good about your game Jamie can show ways how to maximize EV by doing exercises with Flopzilla, ICMizer, or finding uncommon leaks in different game stages by studying databases.

I have been a rec player for awhile with some moderate results... Each year I usually hire a coach to sharpen my game/keep it fresh/and help rake in the dough. I've heard about Jamie through friends and knew he was the real deal, so I figured I would give him a shot.

Not only was I impressed with his professionalism, but also his uncanny ability to explain things that are comprehensible with ease. He quickly found areas for me to improve upon, provided HW assignment, and provided a write-up of major areas discussed. That was only for a trial 2hr session... I snapped up a 10hr block at this price as I knew this was a steal of a price.

Oh btw, our first session was Tuesday 23 July... then armed with the confidence and insight Jamie provided I shipped a 2.20 Micro-Million the next day.

These prices will not last long, definitely underselling himself so snap them up & win!

Having had 2 sessions, Jamie has already established some leaks in my game and how I can improve. I chopped an 8R for $3000 a week ago which probably wouldn't have happened without the two previous lessons. Would recommend to players of all levels
