Hi Gordon, hope you are doing good today
As it is my first post in your thread and in 2+2 forum is well, I allow myself begin through small
hello for you and everybody on the forum
My name is Pawel and I come from Poland. I play husng turbo/reg speed 15-30$ Buy-In. Know about you trough
ilidek blog from PS.
I decided to try a littel 6 max cash. I bought you short book/guide
"No Bull**** 6 max". Seems pretty interesting. My plan is to go from NL4 to NL25 by fallow instruction which you given in your book. As I almost never played 6 max cash in my live I think it will be good guide line for me.
My first impression about your book is very positive. Contain of this book fallow the rule 80/20. Presentation of knowledge short and to the point.
However we still have a lot of information which we have to absorb and use in very similarly situation (starting range chart, reaction from each of 6 starting position vs each position included 3Betting pots, postflop play etc). All this together can make a lot of confusion in head of person which is not familiar with 6 max dynamic.
So I decided to start learning this by fellow method:
1. I try to memorize open ranges for each position in unraised and not limped pot + BB play vs SB open raise (call, 3B/AI, 3B/Fold). I start play 2 tables (55 minutes session) and during this session I focus on applying instruction from your book in situation described above. Rest of play I do by fallowing my instinct.
2. I think session analyze later is good idea, but we only visualize in hand replayer non opened pots and pots where SB open raise since we have been at BB. This will help as for check if our starting ranges vs situation are correct.
3.We repeat process until we perform well.
4. We add one more variable. For example BB reaction vs Btn Open Raise. Practice, checking, repeating until is good, then we adding next situation, and next and next until we learn whole system created by you.
I decided to start by learning backwards from the end because two things: first, our frequency of engagement in play are much more higher from blinds and late position then early's positions (consequence of starting hands range) and second, if we defending blinds correctly and we are able to steal them from Btn/CO we can generate immediate profit.
Please let me know whats do you think about this method? Are you like it or not? I f not could you propose something instead please?
I know by doing this I blindly fallow some charts instead of think by myself. But I do it because I trust you and want to take good habits for starting 6max. I'm conscious that later I will need to adjusting vs tables dynamic, particular players etc. But for begging I need to have some starting point. Adjustment I will make on higher stake. Once, I will be a little bit more familiar with HUD, ranges, dynamics etc.
Regards,
Pawel
P.S. By the way, sorry for English if there was any mistake
