I have recently completed about 12 sessions with Bill and would like to share my experience.
Been playing poker for 6/7 yrs for fun as most ppl do. Started with tournaments as most ppl did and enjoyed the game. As a rec player I was a losing player that was happy to cash in once in a while.
I started to read about strategies and following 2p2 but not everything was making sense to me so I decided to join a study group because I was too cheap to pay for coaching. Study group was a fiasco as I wasn't getting one on one help so I stopped that.
One day I decided that I wanted to become a better cash player as I didn't have the flexibility to play live tournaments and wanted to be able to leave the poker room when I wanted and make some money. I was tired to see some ppl win all the times as I wanted to be one of them.
So after a losing session I told me self that with the money I was losing I could pay for coaching and even if that didn't work, things just couldn't get worse.
I researched many coaches on 2p2 and honestly was sold me on ANL Poker were the quiz, the essays and that fact that Bill specializes in live cash games 1/2, 2/5.
Took the quiz and actually enjoyed it although I'm pretty sure my score is got to be one of the lowest ones Bill has ever seen
I did the quiz review which did take 2 sessions but the quiz is long and we went at a regulars pace. After the very first session on quiz review I felt that Bill had already fixed a thing or two and started to see the game in a different way.
So I signed up for his biggest package deal where I get sessions on skype and email hand reviews. I only did one session a week so this lasted 3 months and for the money is an easy investment.
I would submit hands where Bill would call me out and explain to me why I was playing the hand like a fish and how to fix it.
I also enjoyed skype sessions we would record with files that we would go through together. I would review our sessions and go from there.
Some concepts were easier for me to understand while others I still struggle with. Poker is not an easy game which is why most players lose money but Bill has a good view of the game and I like his strategies.
Since I started to work with Bill I went to Vegas twice and had two winning trips playing 1/2, 1/3 and even ventures out to a 2/5 session on the last trip for a $450 win.
Both trips were 4 days and won $1,500 and $2,000 playing very comfortably. For a losing player those are big numbers and a huge boost in confidence. I had a couple Vegas regulars complimenting me on my game.
I can also pinpoint a couple big moments where the speech play techniques that Bill explained got me paid up in fool!!!
In conclusion I think that coaching is very personable and that a good coach for one player may or may not be good for another player.
If you are willing to put your ego aside, listen to someone and try some of the things you are learning then Bill is your guy.
His schedule is flexible and he does know what he's talking about. I personally don't care about his online graph but what I do care is that now I'm more confident and able to win more money.
Am I losing player? I think so but after 12 sessions I'm closer to small winner that big loser.
The last two vegas trips were a huge success because of Bill. I'm sure the next trips will be just as good if not better.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
