Hi I'm Aesah, I have played poker professionally for ~8 years with the majority of my volume at midstakes live games all over the USA. I am an avid competitive video gamer and prefer to approach poker from an intuitive angle as I would for other games. These days I mostly play the 5/5 $1k cap at Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles. I also play online on Global and Ignition. Below are my 2021 Ignition results with the majority of the volume at PLO500. Global is untracked by their policy but my bb/100 winrate is comparable to Ignition over ~100k hands (yes, it is a sun run):


My preferred style of coaching is for the student to bring 4 or more hand histories to the first session and we will discuss them. This helps me identify the student's approach to poker and from there I can decide which aspect of poker they can focus on for the improvement.

Just wanted to stop by and leave a few thoughts for anyone looking for a poker coach.

I just had a follow up session with Aesah today, and could not be happier with both my results as well as how coaching has improved my overall game. I have been working with Aesah for 2 months now, and I've seen huge improvements in my thought processes on and off the table.

I turned to Aesah for his PLO coaching, and via our first session reviewing my hand histories, Aesah pointed out a number of glaring issues that I had never even considered. This to me was invaluable, and made coaching way more worthwhile than the few training sites that I've signed up for. There is a lot of value here for anyone looking to understand the game on a higher level, and this is a great way to work with someone who is extremely talented at poker.

Had my first coaching session with Aesah yesterday and will happily do more in the future.

He helped me fine tune some strategies and plug some leaks, and explained a couple baseline theory issues I needed to implement better.

Does all the stuff a good coach should:

- listens well
- meets you where you're at
- doesn't care about who is "right" and is always open to seeing things in a different way if it makes sense

Overall he's just a very good dude who is generous with his time and genuinely wants to help others reach their poker goals.

He's clearly put the time in over the years to get his skill level where it needs to be and is crushing 500PLO on Ignition for a large winrate, so if you're wanting to learn how to beat low to midstakes PLO I'd highly recommend booking a session with him.

I don't really even have and histories to go over. I am a beginner and was wondering if you would consider teaching me the basics of the game such as how to do the basic poker math and when to call, raise, or fold? I understand that there are books out there that teach this but I figured it would be less time consuming to get this kind of information directly from another live person rather than a book. Please let me know if you are open to teaching beginners.

When discussing a hand, I'm generally focused on what the most +$EV play in a vacuum. This takes into account both what the GTO line is as well as reads/population tendencies on how we expect our opponents to react

Oh you are right! Yes I made PLO videos for CLP a very long time ago. Left on good terms but would not recommend watching my videos on there though as they are very outdated!

I'm starting to play poker again and will be re-opening coaching. I am still shaking off the rust so I currently prefer coaching stakes up to $5-10 live for NLHE/PLO and up to $2.50-5 online for PLO only, although for those who have been following me on 2+2 I will still take students for higher stakes as of course I still do have ~10,000 hours of poker under my belt and a good mind for strategy games (just got Rank 1 global in Teamfight Tactics, a strategy game with a bigger playerbase than poker).

I highly recommend Aesah to anybody looking to improve their plo game.

In my first session, he identified some fundamental flaws in my approach to the game and how better to think about my ranges.

Aesah is extremely knowledgeable, a great communicator, and a great teacher. Every session I have with him is an opportunity to learn and improve.

Just finished up a session with Aesah and I'd recommend him for PLO coaching, especially for his ability to go through hands and talk concepts with clarity.

He was able to speak to me in a way I could easily understand as I'm transitioning from NLHE. I was able to lean on his experience and get clear answers to my questions - that as a NL player was initially hard for me to comprehend. I feel more confident going forward after the session I had.

These days I'm regularly playing $5/5 or $5/10 NLHE games at Bike and PLO500 on Ignition. I'm occasionally playing $10/$20 live PLO at Commerce and PLO2k online as well. The reason I mix both games is because I enjoy the psychological heads up battles of poker, best represented for live NLHE, as well as the math and strategic intricacies of poker, best represented in online PLO.

I am taking on more students than I would like at the moment so I have decided to increase my coaching rates but will also include a package option that will keep the same rate. There are a variety of reasons, e.g., it is more fulfilling/enjoyable for me to work with a student over multiple sessions.

First hour will be $150/hour, 3 hours or more will be $100/hour. Can be applied retroactively if you book one hour then decide you want more.

I've now done a couple sessions with Aesah and am definitely pleased with how things are going. I'll echo what other people in the thread have said: it's clear that he knows his stuff, and he's good at communicating it.

One thing I especially appreciate, and that I think is useful from any teacher or coach, is that he can explain a concept in more than one way. If I have a mental block, or am not getting something the first time, he's able to come at it from a different direction, or set the scenario up a different way, etc. Being nimble and flexible like that is cool.

I've referred a couple folks to him already, and would happily do so again in future.

I received coaching from Aesah yesterday. He was really easy to talk to. I had a few questions I felt were kind of stupid but he did not make me feel that way.

I asked him to be a bit more harsh on me go over my biggest leaks first and he did so. His overall game sense is good and still plays actively with a love for the game even after years. I went into it not knowing what to expect but came out feeling like it was time well spent. I think his strengths are his game theory rooted in practice and play combined with how grounded he is which makes him easy to talk to in order to receive coaching tips and ideas.

I have just finished my first 3 session with Aesah and plan to book many more. He has a deep understanding of both theory and practial application, as well as the differences between live PLO and online PLO. He quickly identified some leaks in my game and how to fix them, and I am more confident than ever when going to play PLO!

Hey sorry for the late response!! I'm not accepting poker students for online play at the moment as I am too out of practice, I would consider coaching live if someone really wants me specifically but I am also out of practice for that too. Have played very little poker in the past few months. Will update the thread if I ever come back to poker which does seem to keep happening =]
