Hi guys, finally getting around to making a thread here as I'm looking to get back into coaching following a long hiatus. I've been a midlevel full-time pro for the past 5-6 years across various formats, and have long harbored a passion for helping beginners and lower-level players - check my post history, I've been posting in BQ here for 10+ years! I'm hoping to provide affordable, accessible coaching for players trying to learn the game. I haven't done much coaching in the past year, but I'm looking to get back into it, help out some newer and struggling players, and to supplement my own grind with some coaching hours.

In the past, I've worked with dozens of players of all levels and was a contracted theory coach for Lotte Lenya's husng + spin stable WinningFlips. I've helped losing players turn into winners, husng pros battle into pokerstars hu divisions, and spin and mtt pros shore up leaks in their hu game. I'm sure I can help you improve and set you up for future success at the tables!

Who This is For

I'm mainly trying to work with new, losing, and learning players, with the goal of turning you into winners and setting you up for continued improvement and success. I've been working with and helping beginners for many years, and am good at breaking down poker theory + concepts and helping people understand the game. If this sounds like you, struggling at micros online, breaking even at live 1/3, or trying to learn husngs or spins as a $5 or $10 grinder, I can definitely guide you in the right direction and help you get setup for success. I can also help point you in the right direction regarding the myriad training content, books, and tools available in the modern poker environment - I am familiar with pt4, h2n basics, icmizer/hrc, solvers (gto+ and simplepost), and presolved gto databases, and can point you towards solid training and learning content outside of our sessions.

I'm also happy to work with any players looking to transition into husng/spin play or dabble in these formats.

Finally, I do offer coaching for winning spin regs and mtt grinders looking to do hu work + lowstakes husng regs looking to regbattle into divisions, though rates for this coaching are higher.

What Coaching Involves

Each hourlong coaching session generally involves about 30 minutes of theory work and 30 minutes of review. General theory work will be directed at leaks and problem points for each player found through light db analysis and hand review. I often create presentations for us to review on whichever theory topic(s) we've decided to work on. We will use modern gto tools - I use gtowizard and will also prepare selected solves in gto+ before sessions, and I can help you develop a working familiarity with these tools.

I also try to give practical takeaways in each session that you can immediately bring to the table to play and think better.

This blend of practical + theoretical coaching allows for immediate winrate + thought-process improvement and sets you up with baseline theoretical knowledge you can build on as you become a more advanced player.

I'm curious why you choose to play multiple formats as opposed to just one? Why not just play cash?

I have reached Duncelanas to help me improve my game in spin&go, and hu play in 5€ and 10€.

For the moment (5 sessions of one hour each), i have been really impressed with the quality of advices he has given me.

I just finished a session with Duncelanas where we dove into concepts of nut advantage and turn overbetting to fix a leak of mine. He was really knowledgeable and would explain while helping me visualize with GTOWizard. Super friendly and clearly understands the theoretical side very well. The only coach I had seen with a friendly rate towards a micros player and didn't disappoint. Looking forward to setting up another session where we are going to dive more into my current tools Flopzilla Pro and GTO+ together.

Mainly because husngs are a very fun format for me and I enjoy the variety. In terms of study/grind focus I have mainly shifted towards cash (grinding about 100 hrs/mo of live cash + a bit online to stay sharp), but I was a husng grinder for many years and am able to maintain a solid roi at mid-hi stakes with light study/review. Reasonable hourly + enjoyment is enough reason for me to play husngs (and spins) when I want to, but I don't think the ecosystems for those games are as robust and am not interested in committing to them as my main grind. I just think they're enjoyable formats and am more than happy to mix them into my grind and my coaching.

For those curious about the different "levels" - Beginner + Intermediate coaching are generally focused around big-picture theoretical concepts and hand history review + light db work. The goal is to develop some general heuristics in different lines, fix big leaks, and learn not to be afraid of gto solutions and modern poker tools.

Advanced coaching involves more granular analysis, detailed texture work, and narrower session topics. People here should be long-term winners already at least comfortable with solvers.

Hey duncan

So I looked at the 2 husng graphs you posted. On 1 you 'earnt' $10 a game and on the other it was in the ballpark of $1 I think.

What are your current buyin levels of Husng? (I appreciate you may be only playing live presently but theoretically.)
How many tables do you play concurrently? How many hu matches would you play in a day?

If I was going to get lessons can I put together a bespoke request for video topics and structure please?

The sharkscope graph posted is from stars which is vast majority $15 + $30 hyper husngs played quite a ways back now. The ignition graph is $50-200t games within the past few years. Naturally, the higher stakes and slower game speed lead to much higher $/game average from the Iggy sample. I have also won at global $50s (before $100s were on the platform) and wsop.com $50-$100h, with breakeven 200h results over smallish samples. I haven't played many husngs lately, but I still feel quite comfortable playing $50-100t Iggy games. I have stepped back from $200s, but that's more about shifting priorities towards cash rather than anything bad happening in those games. If I put more time into my husng game again it would certainly be with the intention of getting back in the 200t mix.

In general, I 2-3 table husngs. I think the third table cuts decently into my roi, but improves hourly. I usually recommend 2 tabling max to players I work with, because most of my students are intermediate learners where mass volume isn't the right approach. Especially when playing $100s+, g/hr is often gated by traffic. For example, on Iggy with moderate lobby management I think I've averaged about 6g/hr. That means playing 20-25g/day is pretty reasonable. Playing lower stakes or selecting hours more carefully should lead to higher numbers here. Playing hypers or spins you can obviously push 100+g/day if the sites you play have enough traffic.

In general, I start packages with some leakfinding and use that to build a plan and set some future topics - coaching is tailored to each student's game. If you have specific topics you want to focus on, or even an entire course you'd like to follow, that's completely fine. I'm happy to build a curriculum with you, and I don't have any sort of premade rigid step-by-step method or course that I take students through.

I appreciate training videos are not the same as tailored 1 on 1 coaching but I find it useful to see them nonetheless.

Unfortunately I don't. I have sporadically streamed at www.twitch.tv/glovespoker but I don't have any vods, youtube content, etc. and I don't stream regularly at all.

I’m a beginner/intermediate player who reached out to OP for the 5-session package.

Because of the sessions, I have a much better understanding of general poker theory and have also plugged some basic leaks along the way. I have also been shown some general exploits against specific types of villains in my games.

While I still have much to learn, I’m for sure in a better place now compared to when I started. Because of the sessions, I have also become better at doing my own study.

OP is friendly and has a good interactive teaching style that keeps me “challenged” both during and between sessions, which I appreciate.

I can for sure recommend his coaching services to others in my position.
