I can't think of a single scammer/thief that has received justice in the last few years.
Its because street justice is illegal. At least its much harder to do to someone now and get away with it. The risks outweigh the gains monetary wise.
Maybe 40-50 years ago you could get someone to beat the **** out of a guy who owes you money from some gambling den run by the mob, times have changed. Cameras everywhere and the positions of power in towns and cities have changed.
The reason scamming in poker is so prevalent and common to some degree is because, besides getting your rep tarnished a bit, there is NO downside to stealing from poker players and investors. Literally none. You are at almost 0% risk if you steal $20,000 from your backer.
I honestly dont know why it isnt even MORE common than it is now, because its just easy to do if you are charismatic and sociable. Even if you arnt online it would be easy to get a stake and just steal it. No consequences to the thief.
