That only makes sense to a Finn. In the English alphabet the letter "e" corresponds to the Finnish "i" sound. The Finnish "a" is close to "ah" (what you say at the dentist). The R is the Russian "rrrrr" sound.
The very first two words the interviewer says on this video are the correct pronunciation of his name (8 seconds in or so):

In English spelling it's something like "?E-lah-ree". The stress is on the first syllable. The first "e" sound is short, starting with what I think is a glottal stop (think of the break between "uh-oh" and you'll get it).
