When are the schedules for the tournaments held in other casinos released? Remember there being a bunch arnd the time of colossus last year

Off hand, there are usually tournament series held at The Golden Nugget, Binion's, Planet Hollywood, Venetian, Wynn, Aria, etc, etc, etc.

They usually release their schedules a few weeks after the WSOP. Keep an eye on SpaceyFCB's database. He is usually pretty quick to update as schedules are released.

Other than WSOP and deepstacks what do your recommend for tournaments?

I usually go out and play in the 2 plo8 tourneys and usually add 1 more $1500 wsop. Then grind out big o cash or small buy in tourneys around town.
This year I got 2nd in a $360 Mspt for 40k and I plan on taking a shot!
Events I plan on playing for sure
Event #32 $1500 O8 mix
Event #41 $1500 Plo
Event #46 $1500 plo8
Event #51 $10k plo8 (my first 10k)
Then the. $10k main event!!
Probably will fire a bullet or two at giant or 888 and monster stack.

Just booked flights and accommodation for my second WSOP trip! Last year I grinded up a bankroll in Sydney pub poker games to go to Vegas (documented in my PGC) and proceeded to brick for 10 days straight. Luckily that didn't bust my roll and Aussie pub poker is the gift that keeps on giving, so I'm back for another shot. The plan is similar to last year: Daily Deepstacks at the Rio and PHamous tournaments at PH. I'll play the Colossus if I win a sattie, and I'm playing the $1000 Tag Team event with some mates.

Also, as going straight from flying from Australia to playing in casinos for 10 days proved to be the nut low last year, I'm arriving early this time to hike the Zion National Park Traverse. 50 miles and 10.000 feet elevation in three days, that should clear up my jetlag!

I come to Vegas every summer for five days with my wifey. Wifey doesn't mind day tourneys but doesn't want me playing poker at night when I should otherwise be with her.

Maybe five years ago I got my first taste of the WSOP at the Rio. Played in some cash games and a $175 SNG for a 1500 lammer. I walked out enjoying the experience but promised myself I wouldn't be back until I played in a tournament.

Well, broke that promise. I've been back to play cash a few times since, but no tourneys.

This year, I'm coming to LV a day early for a 22-hour binge. Still can't play in a bracelet event but I'm all lubed up for a daily deepstack with cash games late into the night (prob at Bellagio, not Rio) if I busto. Also plan on eating at Cornish Pasty if time allows.

I've tried the whole WSOP grind, and it takes an especially disciplined and inspired person to play anywhere near their best for that long. I'm firm in my routine of 2 weeks early/mid, and 1 week for the main. I'm curious to read other people's ideal schedule. We are doing a WSOP prep podcast series on Top Two Pokercast so it'll give me some insight into what works for others.

I agree with you. 2weeks feels like an eternity in vegas sometimes. Ive always wondered how some of these guys can grind for a month or two at a time and still play well. Maybe there is a trick, perhaps few days off here and there. Maybe they dont play so well after a few weeks.
Would love to hear advice on this subject.

i've had 6-7 week vegas trips (never during wsop)
when i feel myself getting burned out i'd take a day or two totally off usually on a dead day like a tuesday and just get completely **** faced

Planning a trip down in June to play 1 or 2 events. For a first timer who wants to play at max $3k worth of tourneys any recommendations? I was looking at crazy eights and millionaire maker because they look fun/interesting but would love to hear some suggestions.

As for cash games, I mainly play 5/5-5/10 PLO so would love to hear some feedback regarding where to play PLO cash as well (this would/could also influence where I might stay).

Making my second trip to Vegas the first week of July. Staying at Harrahs for $250 (plus the BS fees and taxes) or something like that for 4 nights. Cheapest place I could find and don't plan on spending much time in the room anyways.

Might play a $1k event, or just the deep stack series at Venetian.

Milly is always one of the best small buyin big field events.

I'd like to play the $1k tag team June 5, but none of my friends can afford it.

I'm up for 1, 2 or 3 others to join a team with. Last live event I played was Tunica and finished 40th, ITM. I'm not a superstar but have a few live cashes.

Just finalized my plans. Will be in town for 10 days and staying downtown for the cheap rooms and lower stakes table games. Staying 10 nites at the 4 Queens for $450 including tax (No bogus resort fees).

Plan to play cash as well as some tourneys, including the WSOP Crazy 8, the Golden Nugget series, and the Binion series.

I'll also do some low stakes gambling in the pits ($5 tables) and plug some $.25 video poker machines at the bars.

Downtown has the lowest priced rooms and still has several hotels with no resort fee. Resort fees elsewhere will range from $12-$39 PER NIGHT plus 13.38% tax! That makes the Venetian's $39 fee jump to $43.87 per night on top of the room rate!

Downtown hotels with no resort fee include The Fremont, The 4 Queens, and Main Street Station.

I booked with Priceline and am staying at The 4 Queens for $45 per night including tax. Hard to beat.

You'll need to take a cab, uber, or bus to Rio but at these rates you'll be able spend some on transportation.
