Ill Start..
I'm staying at the Aria and will only be able to go for 4-5 days
I will mostly be playing 5/10-10/20 NL Cash and maybe some PLO if I start losing. I will also play ONE maybe TWO $1500-$5000 buy-in Tornys.
I will be going with only 12-15k in my pocket and hope I don't come home owing my friends another 20k or so.....lol

I went last year for the first time, stayed 1.5 miles east of the strip and at the time of booking I thought it'd be dead easy to just walk to the strip every day. Ended up costing a fortune in Ubers. Will be looking for something closer this year, but should be going for the full month of June again. Mainly be playing 2/5 and as many bracelet events as I can justify.

Goal to crush high stakes poker and win millions , but realistically just to have fun and enjoy seeing lots of poker fanatics. Okay also to get Fedor's autograph cause than maybe then i can run and play like him.

Depends on how much i have save up but i am going to try and play the highest limit my bankroll allows which hopefully will be in bobby's room

I live 2 hours from Vegas so I will drive down a few times to watch action. I'm a student with a limited budget so I can't enter any events.

I will probably drive down to watch two of the opening days of the Main Event, just to see the spectacle and maybe glimpse a few bigtime pros among the throngs of players. The I will drive down again to watch Day 7 when they play down from 27 to 9

you sir have a passion for the game, why just observe put some effort and improve your game so you can partake in it. Its like 5 months away, some studying and improving will help you beat the game. Let me know if you want some coaching, ill do it for free. You can observe me play mtts or cash game depending on what i feel like playing. or even watch tonka play on twitch, he is a very solid and entertaining player.

Walking to the Rio from anywhere farther than the Palms sucks. I suggest you look into the Gold Coast if you want a hotel right next door.

Alternatively, consider a monthly/weekly rental on Flamingo and get a bus card to ride down Flamingo. If you rent by Paradise and Flamingo, you will see plenty of World Series hoes, too.

Why wasn't it easy to just walk to the strip? This is less than my walk to work each day and it takes about 30mins. What am I missing?

I played mostly $100-300 O8, Big O and Horse tournaments at a bunch of different places.

This years plan is similar. I will be looking to run it up! at Binions, Golden Nugget, PH or even Orleans. I would hope to be able to play #32 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better; Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better; "Big O"

If I understand the question correctly , its a great question that I should have added to title ! I do back / take a piece of 3-4 people every year in Main. That money is given to the players I back prior to leaving. I could never play the Main as its just too long and wouldn't know what to do with all the money when I won it

I've been to the WSOP for the last two years, playing some $1,000 and $1,500 events. This year, I've changed the dates I will be there and for the first time will be there during the Main. I'm travelling from the UK, so need to make the trip long enough to be worthwhile so will be in town for three weeks.

I have the opportunity to be a comp slut with free nights at various chains so over the course of my stay. I will be at The Linq, Caesars, Wynn, Aria, and, from 9 July, the Rio for the convenience. I will be playing satties to try for my Main Event ticket, but will certainly also play some bracelet events.

i'll be playing mostly cash but will probably play the 1500 and 3000 plo events.
if i'm doing really well in cash games or cash in either one i may play the 10k (possibly trying to sell half my action if i don't cash for much )

Do you have to be 21 to get inside the card room even though you wont drink or gamble? If so how hard is it to sneak in? And do they ID everyone?

Unless you look like your 16 should have no problem going in to watch, just walk in like a boss.

My first trip out for the series was in 2006 courtesy of pokerstars. I didn't cash in the main but had a great time and it only cost me $27.... took a few years off but have been going back for the last 7 years for at least a week playing in various smaller events. While I've only played in the main one other time (got my AA 5 bet all in to QQ villain spikes a Q on the flop to crack my aces) I've had good luck with the cash games (2/5 &5/10) and a few cashes in other bracelet events.

This year I plan to go out for the millionaire maker and stay for 8 or 9 days. Unfortunately I have a conference in Orlando 3 days prior so I'll be flying to Vegas Saturday night for a sunday start in the milly. The marathon looks interesting and may give that a go(structure like a miny main event). I like the 3k 6 max and will probably play that and finish with the senior event. Depending on how I run and how the cash games are I may try the venetian and planet Hollywood as both have decent structured tourneys.

Last year I stayed at the Gold Coast for the first time and didn't find it that bad. I saved almost $1,000 for my 10 day stay. The food options are a bit more reasonable (breakfast buffet $7 and dinner pretty cheap also) and the walk isn't bad at all, just be careful crossing the street as they were ticketing pedestrians for jaywalking and crossing without the light. This year I'm back at the rio as my wife may be coming out (rio has a much better pool). The free shuttle is convenient for getting over to the strip and runs all day just have to plan so your not waiting to long at the stop.

I booked through AirBnB this year. I'd suggest everyone look there first as the quality is much better for equivalent prices of hotels. There's also a bunch of ppl renting out Palms suites for $140/nt which is awesome. I'll be staying for a week this time playing mostly cash and pigging out at my favorite buffets and restaurants.

There were lights there last year and the gold coast has good value food options and I was impressed with the Chinese food.

Land June 10th w/e of milly maker (wont be playing) plan on staying till that Friday (EDC is in town, not my kinda thing but hoping there will be a cool crowd as the following w/e is the seniors events) the week is set due to vacations so I gotta work w what I get lol. Considering Gold Coast bc I can get 6 days for ~600 total so not bad. My stepmom can get armed forces vacations for 349 a week so hoping to see if I can do that but I'm trying to book soon so I might just pull the trigger and do Gold Coast and then rent a car 6 days ~$170 through enterprise but prices for rental cars have increased substantially since the schedule has been released so I would suggest booking ASAP! My first trip to Vegas was 3 years ago today, super stoked for my first trip during the series. There are no good evens whilst I am there (in my BR ~4k that I'll be taking so I just plan on Cash and the Daily deep stack events, we will see what PH looks like when they release but I plan on griding meh balls off, eating some top notch food, winning all the monnies and doing a solid TR. Played in my first tourney in a while last sunday to start prepping $115, 89 runners chopped 7 ways for around 1400 ish soo not bad.. Im cant wait, it will be here before we know it!!

I live in Los Angeles and started going to the WSOP in the 90's, playing only 20-40 Hold'em games. They were so juicy back then that I could often make 10K in a week, which was big money for me back then. Never played a WSOP tourney until 2003 and finished 5th in my first event for 35K (Limit Hold'em). I made a final table in 2004 and 2005 and thought it would always be so easy. WRONG! I have made only one final table since, but have missed going many years because of other commitments.

Two years ago I bought a small condo 10-15 minutes away from the Rio. The prices were and are still very good for Las Vegas real estate. I can keep a car there and fly over (only one hour with lots of cheap flights) and save myself the long drive. Nevada got hit the hardest in the real estate crash and is only starting to recover now, but condos and houses can still be bought there for bargain basement prices (try 60-90K for a condo and 100-150K for a house).

If you can afford it, it's a good investment and you never have to hassle with hotels and their high prices during the Series and you can eat at home as well and save even more money. I stock my frig when I get there. That way I can stay as long as I want and play the days I feel like playing and otherwise relax at home, go swimming or just watch sports on TV. I've got loads of DVD's as well. I sucked last year, played eight tourneys and only cashed once. All were small events (1,000 to 1,500) and I only lost 6.4K, my second worst year. I played six 1K events and two 1.5K tourneys for a total outlay of 9,000. I won 2,600 in the Seniors to recoup a little. I got to play eight good tourneys for less than one main event buy-in. Not a bad deal in my book. My other expenses for the two weeks amounted to maybe $500 for food, gas and airfare.

Do you rent out the house on busy weekends when hotel prices are crazy high? If seems like that could be pretty profitable, although Vegas tourists are probably a high risk of trashing the place.

Also curious about ^ This. Also, what is the overhead like to keep a place there, property taxes, etc.
