Think of the effects Doyle Brunson/Stu Ungar have had on the continued popularity of the game, but on crack.
Raymer finished 25th in the ME in '05 after his win, and it was a brutal beat that sent him home if I remember correctly. That's pretty sick.

WSOP ME entrants in

2004: 2576
2005: 5619

2008: 6844
2009: 6494

Difference of 5143, so it's almost as if Eastgate has gone deep in 3 ME's compared to Raymer. sorta.

63, but the rate of eliminations has slowed a little. I'll guess they stop at 70.

Dennis Phillips on 3+ mil.

Pretty sick. At some point the haters will have to show some respect. I don't think you can make a deep run through two monster fields without some legit poker skills.

Ludovic Lacay Lucky and Lovin' It

Before the flop, Ludovic Lacay had raised from middle position, Craig Boyd reraised from the button, and it folded back to Lacay who called. The flop then came {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}. Lacay checked, Boyd bet 600,000, and Lacay called.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds}. Lacay checked, and Boyd pushed all in for 1.526 million. Lacay went into the tank for three minutes. The pot was already about 2 million before Boyd's shove. Finally, Lacay made the call.

Lacay turned over {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Boyd showed the current nuts -- {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Then came another friendly river for Lacay -- the {A-Spades} -- and the pair chopped.

Lacay is still at about 5.2 million, and Boyd still about 2.6 million.

Be interesting to see what Phillips had for all those 4bets. If he isnt running like god then he seems to be playing pretty well.

Rockets to the Moon

Darvin Moon open-limped from early position before Christopher Bach raised to 175,000. Jamie Brown then reraised to 375,000 from the button. Action folded back over to Moon and he reraised to one million. Bach ducked out of the way, but Brown went into the tank. After a solid two minutes, he announced that he was all in with his remaining 1.4 million. Moon quickly called.

Moon showed {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs} against Brown's {K-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}.

The board ran out {6-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {8-Clubs} and no help for Brown. He was eliminated from the tournament as Moon shot up to 7.5 million in chips.

--limp reraise that aa, so tricky!
