Ivey gets an extra 10 million if he wins. Plus he gets a 1 million post thread on 2plus2 imo. Bellegio is going to put a statue of him just like in Rocky movie.

Last I checked, it is possible for an event to be both ridiculous and interesting.

30bb openshoves ftw

Buchman Doubles, Allen Eliminated in Three-Way All In

Eric Buchman open-shoved for 604,000 from the button, Robert Allen moved all in for less from the small blind and after tanking for a bit and asking for a count, Francois Balmigere made the call from the big blind.

Allen {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}
Balmigere {9-Spades} {9-Clubs}
Buchman {10-Spades} {10-Diamonds}

The flop came down {Q-Spades} {J-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}, Buchman's tens leading. The turn, though fell the {10-Hearts} -- Buchman hitting a set, but Allen making a Broadway straight. The {7-Spades} on the river, however, paired the board, giving Buchman the monster pot with tens full. Balmigere dropped to 1,260,000 and Allen was eliminated in 140th place.

After the hand, Buchman was up to 1,350,000.

Eastgate, because Ivey's, like, supposed to win.

Plus it would give me final proof that the universe is rigged, and I could then stop worrying about anything.

Phil Ivey opened with a raise to 55,000 from middle position, and James Akenhead re-raised to 162,000 next door. In the big blind, Herbie Gelman made another raise, moving all in for a total of 490,000. Ivey ducked out quickly, but Akenhead made the call with the covering stack, putting Gelman at risk.

Showdown
Akenhead: {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs}
Gelman: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}

The flop was a disaster for Gelman as the case king peeled off to give Akenhead the hammerlock with top set. In the end, the board ran down {K-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {A-Clubs}. The ace on the river was too little, too late for Gelman, and he has been eliminated.

Akenhead has climbed to 1,600,000.

Phil raises to 56k, seat 8 reraised to 156k, and seat 2 moved all in. Phil calls with KK. Seat 2 shows AK. Phil busts him and moves up more.
Go Phil!

The big advantage in going all in for 30 bb preflop is that you avoid getting into tricky spots postflop.
