I have never been eliminated from a live poker tournament at all, beat that!

Eastgate dropped to like 8k on either day 3 or 4 so for where he's at now that's kinda wild in a way. I dont remember the specifics so it may be no big deal.

Down to 8-12k on day 2 or 3. Surged to 100k+ within a matter of hours.

The TV vultures were circling his table when he was short.

Pretty massive comeback.

Someone told Peter Eastgate that the ME was a double shootout.
07-13-2009 , 03:00 PM
Cant decide which would be sicker, Phil Ivey FTing ME or Eastgate?
07-13-2009 , 03:01 PM
Well Eastgate winning ME would be sicker than Ivey winning it tho imo

The feature table today is Table 20; the secondary feature table today is Table 22.
What an awful decision. No Ivey, Benyamine.

I agree it would get a lot of publicity but I'm not sure it would lead to a mass influx, as the UK is already well exposed to poker through TV ads & sponsorships etc.

Yeah, I remember looking at the tables last night and thinking to myself that the Ivey/Benyamine/Morgan would be the feature table with Prahlad/Schneider's being the secondary. I guess they wanted a table with the ladiez?

Also, who was at the feature table yesterday?
07-13-2009 , 03:07 PM
Have they picked the worst ever feature tables? Unreal.

Think its cos Ivey's table will be the first to break.
07-13-2009 , 03:08 PM
I guess ESPN doesn't want to miss Prahlad accusing someone of skipping antes.

+1, thats f'n awful.

I guess they're going to rock the "Can a woman finally win the ME?" storyline with Nichoel. It doesn't hurt that she's relatively attractive. Norman Chad will have plenty of opportunities to riff.

guys its ok because phil ivey doesnt want to be on feature table.

That on day 1 was just an exception 'cause he was tired. He was on the featured table on other days.
07-13-2009 , 03:15 PM
Wow you have Ivey deep, 2 November Niners, 2 past champions and none are at the feature tables...crazy...

I know you gotta give others shine too but damn...
07-13-2009 , 03:16 PM
I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but nothing will be as epic of a fail as in 2005 when they took Matusow's table and 8 randoms versus Bonyadi/JJ/Ivey/Lederer with like 12 tables left.

Poor table selection imo.
07-13-2009 , 03:21 PM
clayton on featured table, weeeee

Ivey's table is first to break which is why it was never going to be feature table. Some real good players on these tables, and not the same old people. I like.
07-13-2009 , 03:21 PM
Well, the secondary table was picked for the women, obviously. I'm guessing they picked the Prahlad/Schneider table because Friedman proved to make for some interesting television in the '06 event, so perhaps they're hoping he'll be able to recreate is WACKY ante-stealing hijinks and CRRRAZY bluffs.
07-13-2009 , 03:21 PM
PokerNews reporting 177 players left.

8 busted so far?
07-13-2009 , 03:22 PM
I wonder what moron picked the feature tables, terrible.
