Akenhead & Mahrenholz in particular good players who could easily make a run. Beppe is, of course, an idiot. Duvall is a veteran, most of the others internet kids, I think.

Ian Woodley has the best backstory in that he won £1,000,000 on a UK gameshow and decided to spin it on the poker circuit.
Does anyone have more info on this (which gameshow, when it happened etc) Also Lol at everyone calling him Beppe

even if chuck norris would sit there with a 10:1 chiplead, ivey would tear him apart in no time. true story.

Yeh it was on Chris Evans TFI show "Someones going to be a millionaire"

im sure ivey doesnt like this scenario

Whats with the lack of a mention for Peter Eastgate? Last years winner is down to the last 185 an nobody bats an eyelid. Also, Antonio Esfandiari is making a good run and hasn't had much coverage.

Did people not get the memo that Ivey is going to win this thing? Why are other people's chip counts and positions even posted?
07-13-2009 , 07:00 AM
How has Michael 'Beppe' Greco managed to get this deep without any mention of it apart from just recently in this post? Nice to see that it's still possible to luckbox your way into the top 200 in the ME.

omg michael greco is so bad. i remember seeing him on a party poker celebrity STT where he when out on first hand with A10o 50bbs deep, as he said he was going to try and bully the table. he found out its hard to bully someone off aces.

i agree they are very competitive. but just BECAUSE they are very competitive, they don´t care wether they finish 180th or 19th. it´s all about the final table. besides, who cares anway? it´s not like the tour de france or any sport for that matter. i´ve never heard any poker player sth like "zomg, i finished 18th against the best of the world" (paging doug lee lol). both ivey and benyamine don´t care about anything but seven figure payouts in this one. they will either bust pretty soon or make the final table with a massive stack.

Last years champion and the current chip leader? I'd watch that
07-13-2009 , 07:36 AM
also,

Seat 2: Prahlad Friedman - 715,000

In NLH I think there are a ton of other players that would give Ivey more problems than Pumppu. Guys like JC Tran, Elky, Esfandiari etc
07-13-2009 , 07:42 AM
Beppe has a good record in the GUKPT, he's won at least one and got deep in a few others, has final tabled two WSOP events in the last year and gone deep in a few EPT's so to write him off completely as terrible from a few celeb appearances is wrong IMO.
07-13-2009 , 07:44 AM
please god, don't let Joe Sebok win this.
