Yes it is a ridiculous raise or in your words it is a super duper large raise.

Eastgate isn't a very social person it would appear from his interview, man of few words.

Anyone know what the hand was that took Ivey down to 300k?

I don't think so, i thought he meant Ivey might just decide not to show up in november and instead go roll dice in Monte Carlo.

Some big name chip counts:

Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier - 1300000
Kenny Tran - 532000
Justin Bonomo - 510000
Phil Hellmuth - 410000
Mike Sexton - 405000
Phil Ivey - 365000
David Benyamine - 350000
Peter Eastgate - 310000
Bobby Baldwin - 260000 -> How cool is that?

PH back up to 550 000

Sorry, if this has been posted, but gotta love it:

From Pokernews:

Buchanan Leveled
Shawn Buchanan raised to 8,000 from middle position before Gabe Walls reraised from the cutoff to 30,000 after asking Buchanan how much he is playing. Buchanan made the call, leaving himself with 97,000.

The flop came down and Buchanan checked. Walls wasted no time in firing out 45,000. It was now time for Buchanan to go into the tank. After a minute or so of thinking and playing with his chips, Buchanan reached back like he was going to ship it all into the middle. As soon as he did that, Walls ripped his headphones off his ears and sprung forward as if he was going to jump into the pot himself. Buchanan saw this and froze. He now was really stuck and confused about what to do.

"It was all going in, wow." said Buchanan. "Now you may make me fold the best hand... wow."

After another minute or so in the tank, Buchanan tabled face up. Walls showed right back and tabled . "Sir, you just got leveled." said Walls.
Also, f'n ELky, man, sheesh.

Elky is at his best when he has a big stack. I feel bad for the ppl at his table when the money bubble is close, he will rape them so bad.

You pasted the text but didn't convert the hand. I'm guessing he had some sort of bluff.

Will ElkY pull a Dario and spew off all his chips?
07-11-2009 , 04:31 AM
Prolly not. At this point he has 13% of what final table avg. will be. So it's gonna take a lot more than spewing off to get there.

Need to figure out how Elky's mind works imo. Seriously, incredible.

No chance. Elky's an absolute beast when he has a huge chip lead.

It's scary how good he is, he's got to be the best NLHE tournament player out there right now.

Any women with a decent amount of chips other than Kara Scott? Especially a 49 year housewife from Des Moines.
