I don't hate Hellmuth's play with his AA fwiw. I think it's worth the risk of someone outflopping you to possibly get someone to oversqueeze you and get their money in super bad.
I want Eastgate & Harrington at the FT.

Hellmuth had 110K, and there'd been a 22K raise behind him. If he shoves, it's highly likely he gets at least a call from the raiser, as stated above because people want to bust him. And anyone calling your AA preflop is getting their money in super bad.

Srsly, he's a shortstack, gets AA, raise behind, shove and hope for a call imo. Like you say tho, he prolly does get called by top pair on the flop, but still much more risky play than a shove.

I'm hoping for Kara Scott vs Phil Ivey heads up. It'll make for a lot of Obama vs Clinton comparisons, especially if Kara starts off with a large chip lead but loses.

John Monette obv. gonna final table this...

Hey guys i'm arriving to vegas on the 15th of this month which would be day 8 of the ME, Do you guys think i'll get to see some action or will it all be done with on the 14th?

I was hoping to catch the final 50 play down or so?

Day 5 chips/seats
07-12-2009 , 01:03 AM

WTF is up with people playing for 3.5 days and not even cashing? Something needs to be done about that. There's people who have been in this over a week that didn't cash. ffs, 6 levels per day again, plz. Cashing should optimally start early day 3, imo, with large % of people who got through day 2 cashing.

Highly doubtful he had AA or KK. Prob some meh pair that isnt a fill, maybe TT at best, I think comprises the majority of his range as he shows AA or KK to "prove" how unlucky he is.

Sure why doesn't everyone just get paid? It'd make the whole thing a lot less challenging and more fun!

lol, exactly. i was going to say earlier that he probably couldnt even beat one jack, let alone 2 of them.

when helmuth talks like that during the hand, espeacially on the turn, its his weak ploy of trying to rep a big hand and make the other guy slow down and not "lose his mind" with a worse hand and put helmuth in a tough spot.

also, like you said, he would show better than a jack to show how unlucky his godly ass is.

he's complaining about the time to reach the cash not the number of players that do cash
07-12-2009 , 01:22 AM
I don't think he's saying increase the number of people who get paid, he's saying compress the structure so that the money starts quicker.

As it is people are taking on the expense of many days in Vegas without getting anything.

Not saying that in the slightest. It's mostly that 6 levels a day will really push a player, this 4-5 level crap is weak. Hell, as far as I am concerned, since they take a break after day 2s finish anyway, 6 levels day 1, day 2 play until ITM. Make it a war of attrition.

No report if Hellmuth uttered "et tu" or anything similar after all of the callers.

The flop came JT5. Jenkins pushed all in for 83,000, Mourshaki folded, then Hellmuth reraised all in with his last 110,000. Gomez folded, and Hsiung called.

Jenkins 98
Hellmuth AA
Hsiung JT

Jenkins had an open-ended straight draw, Hellmuth the overpair, and Hsiung two pair.

The turn was the 7, giving Jenkins the straight. The river was the 3. Jenkins won the main pot, Hsiung the side pot, and Hellmuth has been eliminated.
Nice short stack flat with AA... I generally ignore the Hellmuth critics, but WTF? How is this not a push with his stack size? He wants to invite callers behind him with a flat? blech...
