Negreanu got knocked out on day 1 last year too, FYI

Kinda random question but does anyone know if a player didn't show up for day1, how many chips they would probably have for day2? Any estimate? maybe 15-20k?

A pretty crazy hand just went down over in the middle of the room involving Jean-Robert Bellande.

There was some preflop action and on the flop of {Kd} {Qc} {5s}, Bellande fired a bet of 2,000 after his opponent checked to him from the small blind. Bellande was on the button. His opponent raised to 5,000 and then Bellande made the call.

The turn brought the {Th} and Bellande's opponent checked again. Bellande fired 8,000 and then his opponent raised all in for 18,750 total. With the action back on him, Bellande tanked for a solid few minutes before looking around as if trying to find someone to talk to. He finally found Allie Prescott.

"Allie, Allie. Come here, I'm about to be all in, check this out." he said as Prescott stopped in his tracks on leaned up against the rail next to Bellande's table.

The dealer then turned to Bellande and said, "Sir, it's on you."

"What? I know it's on me. How can you ask that, it's been on me for a few minutes. That's so rude." responded Bellande.

Bellande then uttered, "I have to call, I think I have to call."

Another minute or so passed before the player in seat eight chimed in by asking if Bellande had to call because of what he said. Another player in seat three then chimed in and asked for the clock. Bellande responded by saying how rude the two players were and even brought up a previous hand in which the playing questioning the call didn't call the clock on another player when he had taken far longer than Bellande has been taking. Finally, the floor was summoned to the table.

It was ruled that from what Bellande said, he had to call. "I know, I'm going to call." said Bellande. "You're right." He then made the call.

Bellande's opponent immediately complimented Bellande on making the call and even stuck his hand out. "What do you mean nice call?" questioned Bellande.

The player tabled {As} {7c} for only ace high and Bellande tabled {Kc} {Kh}. The dealer then burned and dealt the river, the {Tc}. It wouldn't be a repeat of last year when Bellande was eliminated in stunning fashion. Instead, he made a full house and moved to 70,000 chips.
Seriously, last year I thought Bellande was really nice on the tv hand that millions watched. people said he was a douchebag and I really didnt think so but WTF is this?

This is really rude and not friendly at all. Why do you act like that Bellande? Can you tell more about this situation because if I read it like this you slowrolled him like none ever did before. This is a standard call if you bet there and if you say you know you have to call it's binding already. Damn, seriosusly wtf.

What a dik. I've really liked Daniel but it kind of seems like there's always some excuse. I mean, they play 4 two hour levels. He can't power through that? He'd have off Monday and Tues then come back for day 2B on Wedns, right? PLENTY of time to get better.

It's only the biggest tourney of the year and he blows through 30K in chips in less than 2 levels.

Between that tweet....the BS over the HORSE format....the "there's a 1st tier WSOP and a 2nd tier" (all the small NLHE donkaments) I'm seriously beginning to hate this guy.
You didn't know Negreanu was the new Hellmuth? Check the DN vs 2eazy thread for moar updates!11!

JRB slowroll is one of the worst I have ever seen. It's obv he has the guy beat. Also as a general rule check riase flop and turn back to back is very often a terrible bluff.

still playing and Lisandro is not doing too bad. hellmuth and harrington still in it as far as I know

Straight Flush No Good for Danzer

We caught this hand as the chips were being counted on the river.

Patrik Danzer held 8-9- on a board of 5-7-A-10-J-. Unfortunately for him, that wasn't good enough to win as his opponent, Christian Jeppsson held K-Q- for the royal.

Danzer still has his starting stack of 30,000 while Jeppsson has 50,000.
Sick hand! Wait, no bad beat jackpot in the Main Event?

There's a reason I cheer for Bellande to lose

Wow. Why couldn't that dude have had 10 10, and not air. Would have been the most deserving douchebag slow roll gone bad in the history of ever.

07-06-2009 , 02:37 AM

Speaking off jerks you want to see bust...

Cantu Cannot Bluff His Opponent

In a big blind versus blind battle, Brandon Cantu check-raised his opponent to 8,500 on a flop of {A-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}. The player than reraised to 18,800. Cantu asked for a count on his opponent's stack and got an approximate amount. He then moved all in and was met with a call after the slightest of hesitations from the player.

"God damnit!! F**k!! F**k!!" yelled Cantu as he smacked his fist on the felt in front of his chips. he then tabled nothing but king high with {K-Spades} {8-Spades}. His opponent held {J-Spades} {J-Clubs} for a flopped set.

The turn brought the {Q-Hearts} before Cantu pleaded, "Ten! Ten!" It wouldn't come though when the {A-Hearts} hit the river to give his opponent a full house.

The total amount owed was 49,100 owed to his opponent and Cantu shipped it on over as he sat completely upset with the hand. He was left with just 10,000 chips.

Also, LOL that the chip leader from Day 1c is from Shelby Township, MI. Macomb County holding it down!

How many survivors from 1C? Can't get the BB to load that page.
07-06-2009 , 03:14 PM
ok, so, if i remember right day 1a went 4 levels and now some of the other day 1's went 5 levels so, where do they start everyone at for day 2's. do they drop the level 5's back or jump the level 4's ahead? i think i would be annoyed if i had to skip a level.

and by the way.....

It's Official - We're at Capacity

From the laptop of a Harrahs official: "The Main Event registration is officially closed. All seats available on Day1D have been sold. Final entrant numbers and prize pool information will be available late this evening after all reconciliation has been completed." Biggest. Day 1. Ever.

so they had each day listed at 3k seats, dunno what the first 3 days total were but a record field anyways.
