meh, think it's pretty rare that the best NL game in town is at RIO. So much easier to start by game selecting between Encore/Venetian/Bellagio for everything up to $5/10 imo. Like you said, depends on stakes, can't really find $75/150 stud8 or o8 anywhere else.

Regardless of priorities it really does seem like from bad chairs, to raging crowds, to no chip runners to not always great cocktail service, to not always great dealers who also usually don't have shufflers, that RIO really has done a lot to be significantly below the bar in a lot of ways for several years.

a lot of those split game regs know each other, i would be surprised if they all didn't just move the 75 game to a diff casino. seems like a no brainer.

There's no way this would be that tough, and almost no way whatsoever that the person would get ID'd. I don't think I've ever been ID'd, or seen a person get ID'd a single time in Vegas outside of checking into a hotel or getting a player's card made. Also, in my limited experience with cameras getting called during poker games I think there's a lot less cameras/visibility around poker tables than most poker players think there are. The casino's liability is generally a maximum of a $1500 dealer bank (usually $400), and they've already got an employee who's job is on the line if they lose it, parked in front of it.

I mean it's early in the series, so maybe, would probably be smart. but they just haven't yet according to bravo. I still can't figure out why that type of game wouldn't just go at Bellagio or Aria to begin with. I can't imagine there's actually that many random fish jumping out of $1500-$5k buy in tourneys and hoping into green chip split pot, but what do I know, must be some reason.

Today, a friend I often play with in the Bellagio 30-60 stud game confirmed the $14 time charge for the Rio 50-100 stud/8 game. He was a regular in the Rio game last year.

There's an effort underway to get the game going at the Bellagio.

Are the games good? I expect to be living in Vegas in 4 years time. Should I skip the usual places and just play cash at the Rio during WSOP?

the games can be good, but you definitely shouldn't skip the other places.

i would assume that theres empty tables at the time the 50stud8 and 75o8 regs would look to start games. theyre usually up pretty early.

Still a bit hazy to me to understand how the Rio can section a part of their WSOP floor to Kings to run a gaming operation with or for them.

It's not likely the same as simply "branding" by putting a sponsor label on the felt. Those sponsors typically are not gambling operators.

Any idea if this time/rake hike is tied to Kings getting some cut of gaming revenue from those games?

I guess moar rake protects the tourney recs?

So randoms sit down between tournaments to a game that only the house can win.

Yay.

WTF is wrong?

PLO cash games are WAY down in action from 2years ago and games got smaller... while the ****ing economy is ****ing strong... first year that I have to wholly agree with the pessimists and Poker is on it's way to becoming the obsure thing it used to be.

and don't get me ****ing started on the state of NL... the silence, the tanking, the seriousness, the stare downs over a $50 cbet...WTF is wrong with these people? Who the **** enjoys this ****?

I guess everyone has their own table experiences. I guess I've been lucky to play at RIO in NL cash games, lower limits, where everyone at the table is drinking, joking, splashing around, and playing reasonably fast.

$14 per down for 10/25 plo is a joke. Hopefully even more action moves to Aria/Wynn

No, it’s not just him, that’s been my experience too. I love the cash games at the Rio during the WSOP.

The Rio has always sucked and as long as they are part of Ceasers they will always suck.

The Bellagio 40-80 mixed game can be counted on to have the following games: badugi, 2-7 triple draw, badeucey, badacey, Omaha 8 or better, super stud 8 or better, and super 2-7 razzdeucey. It will probably also have Archie.

The games are chosen by whoever starts the game.

The 100-200 is similar except it usually has normal stud and stud/8. They may also have additional games like A-5 triple draw and drawmaha.

What time do you usually need to get there to get a seat when the game is opening? Wait lists def the main thing that sucks about mix and obv super rough if you prefer to start later in the day.

The 40-80 starts before noon. I'd say you have to be there no later than 11am.

I was there today and the WSOP reduced the time charge from $14/down to $12/down. The games are picking up there now. But I still think that $12/h is too much especially when the rest of Vegas is charging $8-$9/down for the same (or similar) games.
