WSOP 2021 Alternative Tournaments Thread - Las Vegas (Sept. 30 to Nov. 23) - Page 2 - Poker News

The Deepstack Championship Poker Series which goes on at the Venetian between September 27 to November 28 nearly duplicates (with buy ins just a little higher) the daily non-bracelet tournaments that they have had at the WSOP for years. Two events per day. I assume better structures.

The WSOP at the Rio is short dealers and the earliest events have been relatively slow.

How is the action out there at...

the Orleans?

the Wynn?

the Venetian?

others?

That 750k 1k nlhe at Orleans sounds sexy and is on my weekend off. Might play an O8 at Aria my other weekend off. No vaccine mandates except wsop right?

Correct at the Orleans. Played their normal Fri $150 tonight. They're saying it's part of their series for a few weeks. Normal runners are just under 200, busiest one I've played in, in the past was about 260. Today, about 320. I was surprised.

I was pretty lucky, and even though I made several big mistakes that even I recognized, I cashed. Arrived at 4, went to look at the lines at the WSOP, played the tourney at 6. I should go home now, I'm 1 for 1 on cashes.

You can't find a mask that you can wear comfortably while sitting at a poker table? The Wynn 1600 (I think there is 1d left?) was a great experience and the tournament area is great for vapers.

Seats are nice, tables are nice, no soft spots with the dealers but I only saw a handful. nicer than the RIO by far. But I got a room at the rio so ...

Ten minute wait, or less, to register and seat on day 1a. They seem to be handling the crowds well even at the RIO, just the dealing is slow with about 1/3 of the dealers at the RIO. They try, they're just slow and deliberate, which is how most of us like it. Not much grumbling. Something about waiting for the machine to shuffle was a popular bark.

All except the WSOP will require mask. It's not a casino mandate; it's the government dicks. If everyone is required to be vexed its off otherwise its on.

Heading down for a couple of weeks the week of Oct 25th so I hope its changed but if not I will play only at the RIO. Sad as I like some of the other tournaments better but it is what it is.
