Maria Ho seems like a smart person but she is not good at announcing. Nick Schulman is so damn good at it and it's a shame he doesn't get the lead spot.

Yeah the PokerGo coverage has been a lot more enjoyable than the espn coverage this year. I don't hate Lon and Norm but it's clear that Ali and Nick have far surpassed them at this point.

Also PokerGo doesn't have commercials so we get a lot more hand coverage. Espn shows too many payout graphics and random little things that take away from showing actual hands.

I kind of have the opposite view - I think she's good at announcing but just isn't very smart.

Omg Lon just did it.

“Flowers over 2 MILLION”. Omg stop it. We aren’t amateurs. You suddenly screaming the word million isn’t going to get us all excited. Jeez

Same. I started watching in 03 and playing in 05. Does Farha still play?

Also Salas is annoying as **** with his useless tanking. Give me kassouf any day.

Am I the only one who thinks Ivey looks wrong with the sunglasses? It’s just not him.

it's a good question. the game needs Farha (and his unlit cig) grinding on the felt!

he just blasted off w/ a bluff, but his sizing on the end was too small imo.

the [Q-4-4]-A-Q board hand.

he bet 75k into 209k ... needed to pump it up to 150k imo.

edit: actually i take that back. his story doesn't make sense. he c/r flop which puts him on a 4. once v calls flop and his turn lead he prob needs to put v on a Q or overpair ... when the river comes Q a 4 shuts down imo. he needed to give up.

I think I read a semi-recent article that said Sammy lives in Texas and doesn't play a ton of poker anymore. Just some occasional mid-low stakes stuff at local venues. I'm sure you could find the interview if you Google it.

No, he had zero shot of getting that through. He never has a queen with that line and I am not sure he is betting a 4 on that river.

I’m guessing he was trying to make it look like a value bet but his whole line was pretty weird.

Basically, he was out of position against Ivey with about 300,000 versus Ivey's 1,000,000 with AK. Ivey was A 4 or 5. Flop was a blank, turn was a blank and he continued betting on both managing to get Ivey to give it up.

A lot of amateurs watch. ESPN isn’t broadcasting only to professionals. The Lon bashing is getting old.

I saw on twitter that WSOP ratings were lower than the hot dog eating contest and the cornhole championships. That indicates that people with zero connection to poker at all aren't watching.

Yea amateurs but not n00bs. Majority of Poker players and ppl watching this know the game. No need to over emphasize simple aspects of the game.

And u seem to be in the minority on the Lon issue. He is really bad. Just listen to the PonerGo coverage, or the twitch streams. The other play by play are much better. It is clear Lon does not have a deep uunderstanding of the game. Lon provides nothing to the action and just states really obvious things like he is providing ground breaking insight.

this isn't the perfect history but something like this ... Ivey in CO or BTN open raises with A5 ... kid with Ruggles patch 3-bets with AKo. flop comes something like [J-5-3r] ... c-bet/call .... turn is a T ... Ruggles bets ... Ivey cuts out a raise and then folds (after thinking for ~ 2 mins).
