11:40 of Doug Polk's video may be helpful.

Selling 900k at the mark-up means he put in 10k for a milly buy-in...🙄

Re: WSOP 2018 results/tournament discussion (**NO SPOILERS**)

I thought for sure this year no one was going to win two bracelets. In the end three did.

I was doing a little poking around. There's a theory called the Mathew Effect. Which basically says that Winners pile on the wins because of momentum. Unfortunately, the momentum goes both ways. If you're running bad it has a compounding effect as well. That's why here some players going "O-fer" the series.

It also might explain the amazing years of Siedel, Coleman, Holz, and most recently Bonomo.

Re: WSOP 2018 results/tournament discussion (**NO SPOILERS**)

lol @ momentum.

It's more likely that at the end of the summer there are 30+ bracelet winners in some of the low buy-in events, and 10+ in the bigger events, meaning the likelihood that someone wins who already won one goes up. Obviously event 74 is more likely to have a second bracelet winner than event #5.

But no, it is luck, momentum, and clutchness.

Learn math.

Weird that it’s happened every year for a long time but I still head into each following year thinking that someone winning two is an underdog

It is like the equation of two people in the same class having the same bday, does not seem logical but is true.

But it *is* logical because often babies are born during storms when the barometric pressure drops.

I downloaded Opera and logged in but I was still blocked (I made sure VPN was turned on and tried again without success). Is there a trick I missed to get this to work? Since I have to login and give my address in order to pay with my CC, they know where I am, so this maybe an exercise in futility.

Has anyone had success watching the replays of the final table or Million dollar one drop at Poker? Elsewhere?

I made the mistake of thinking I could watch the one drop later, only to find out day 2 & 3 are blacked out

Mckeehan did this as well. The year before he won main he had a ridiculous amount of first place cashes. Fedor's run seemed to have lasted since 2015. What would be explanation for that?

Just watched the entire last hand and following award ceremony with Cynn and Miles - had to have been the most subdued winner ever. Cynn starts with an apology to Miles for the slowroll then barely even smiles afterward. I know he was tired, but your life just changed forever - enjoy a little.

Re: WSOP 2018 results/tournament discussion (**NO SPOILERS**)

a) So basically everyone is chopping at the big FTs of these things right? Makes the action a lot less exciting to know that, which of course is why they don't reveal it.

b) Does it seem a little shady to find out (as a backer) that your horse chopped after they win? If they lose do they say anything?

Re: WSOP 2018 results/tournament discussion (**NO SPOILERS**)

Negreanu said on his vlog that he only had 40% of his One Drop action. He had a nice finish in the SHRB that probably covered a lot of his WSOP.
