Today and tomorrow are probably the two deadest days of sports in a given year in this country. I mean I imagine these two days are the only days of the year where none of the NFL,MLB,NBA, or NHL have games. Surprised the WSOP doesn't target the Wednesday and Thursday after the MLB all star game to have the final table of the main event. Surely they'd get the most eyes on the sport.

Poor Lon, he never sees flush or straight draws on the flop, will say someone has paired his Ace when they actually flopped two pair, doesn't know the difference between a flopped set and trips, rarely knows if a player has called or raised, has trouble keeping track of the action and the list goes on and on. You would think after doing this for how many years he might began to learn how Hold'em is played.

Granted he has a lot of enthusiasm and can fill in the blank spaces with ideal chatter about a player's hat or shirt, but that's about all he's good for. And this is the best ESPN can do for the most important event in poker? It's way past time for Ali and Nick to take over!
Lon is there for the average american viewer, a guy would have JhTh on 8h9hx and Lon would say he has J high. Thats why they bring a pro in to discuss further analysis.

Lon doesn't seem to be putting in any effort. Don't know how much he's paid but he seems disinterested. That said, Nick Schulman's style is very interesting, and seems at this point to have an advantage for the turn.

disagree

he's not perfect, and maybe they could get someone better, but tbf to him he's also working a lot of long ass days
i was kind of impressed with his stamina during the ME:FT the other day, given that it's on him to carry the broadcast for the most part

let's put it this way, he's way better than the corny ass WPT broadcasts

Hellmuth is meh, but at least unintentionally funny
would probably rather have lots of other ppl in there instead tho, ya

I saw Bonomo in line at subway in the Venetian food court at 1 am about two weeks ago. I feel like he really needed this one to get out a rough patch. I hope you can afford some decent food now Justin.

Still can't figure out how Saloman flashed a card. Anyone have a slow motion replay?

It was crazy watching this in real time and seeing how well Fedor and Bonomo could read Dan Smith. They literally played perfectly against him.

11:40 of Doug Polk's video may be helpful.

Selling 900k at the mark-up means he put in 10k for a milly buy-in...🙄

I thought for sure this year no one was going to win two bracelets. In the end three did.

I was doing a little poking around. There's a theory called the Mathew Effect. Which basically says that Winners pile on the wins because of momentum. Unfortunately, the momentum goes both ways. If you're running bad it has a compounding effect as well. That's why here some players going "O-fer" the series.

It also might explain the amazing years of Siedel, Coleman, Holz, and most recently Bonomo.

lol @ momentum.

It's more likely that at the end of the summer there are 30+ bracelet winners in some of the low buy-in events, and 10+ in the bigger events, meaning the likelihood that someone wins who already won one goes up. Obviously event 74 is more likely to have a second bracelet winner than event #5.

But no, it is luck, momentum, and clutchness.

Learn math.

Weird that it’s happened every year for a long time but I still head into each following year thinking that someone winning two is an underdog

It is like the equation of two people in the same class having the same bday, does not seem logical but is true.

But it *is* logical because often babies are born during storms when the barometric pressure drops.

I downloaded Opera and logged in but I was still blocked (I made sure VPN was turned on and tried again without success). Is there a trick I missed to get this to work? Since I have to login and give my address in order to pay with my CC, they know where I am, so this maybe an exercise in futility.

Has anyone had success watching the replays of the final table or Million dollar one drop at Poker? Elsewhere?

I made the mistake of thinking I could watch the one drop later, only to find out day 2 & 3 are blacked out

Mckeehan did this as well. The year before he won main he had a ridiculous amount of first place cashes. Fedor's run seemed to have lasted since 2015. What would be explanation for that?
