They were discussing a deal when they went on break on the stream.
Please don’t post spoilers though. Sure, that wasn’t a HH but it’s still spoilerish.

Can a mod add a ‘no spoilers’ to the thread title?

It's hard to take this tournament seriously given what they are doing.

For those not watching the stream (it already aired so I'm not spoiling anything), they agreed to auto min-raise, then the big blind will raise again, then action will be back with the small blind. They are essentially raising the blinds to 600-1.2 million by themselves.

Yeah the WSOP can't be happy about this at all. They are treating the "high roller" event like a daily deepstack.

So why can't they just raise the blinds?

Those guys could not wait to get out of there fast enough. For what?

That was a bad watch heads up.

This deserves it's own thread. I've never seen this happen even in the chop friendly EPT. I can't believe they let this happen. It was being discussed by the announcers and the players the entire last fifteen minutes, as they tried to figure out how to min raise to lower effective blinds.

I don't really care, but the WSOP branding just took a gigantic hit.

I will add that to the title but it is a little tricky since not everyone is a PokerGo subscriber.

But, please, NO SPOILING any information that has not yet aired on either the paid PokerGo stream or the Twitch stream. Violations will result in infractions and/or temp-bans.

Thank you very much.

Pretty awful to watch

I understand why they did it. They already made a deal to split the money so they weren't playing for anything except the bracelet. Each was almost 100 bb deep and didn't want to sit there for hours on end. But still, it demeans the value of the bracelet and makes the tournament look like a joke.

And it wasn't like it was 2am or something. The Table had actually played out really quickly. (Part of why they were so deep heads up)

Who was making the commentary in the highroller? I don't watch a lot of TV poker but I watched down to Hu and it was actually pretty good, put him on more streams please.

It was Ali Nejad and Joe Cada.

Obviously no problem from the players' perspective and makes sense why they would make a deal/speed it up.

If WSOP wants to do something and be fair to the players just bring back the GOLDEN DAYS of Stars and use the same solution - allow deals if all remaining players agree and leave 200K to play for or w/e.

The counts are pretty well out of date, but at last report, Jean-Paul Pasqualini ranked 42nd in chips in the Colossus.

Now someone should check to see if Cederic Rossi is hanging out on the rail behind the other players.

You got to watch the whole stream and hear his commentary. It's super insightful not only about what people did but the reasons why them doing it would affect later streets. Not only that but the way that he voices what he thinks of players thoughts are actually give a personality to the players that you're watching in some odd way.

And his sizing strategy is spot-on.

Yeah it's kinda plagued by the final table deal
I wish they just didn't either reveal anything and do something straightforward like 4x BU

or be really transparent, reveal chop % and what they are doing to the commentators

This was just impossible to watch live

Why did they drop pot limit HE? I thought it was a well attended tournament and it just disappeared a few years back.

Ooh, Ivey vs Chidwick in 1st round of 10K heads up. 114 entries, 14 byes

Other big matchups:

Hellmuth vs Katz
Bonomo vs David Peters

Pretty crazy that so far in this 10k o8 final table both announcers and players at the table don't know what cards they need. Dirksen calling for a 4 (which was correct) and a 6 which would've given him a quarter instead of a 5 for the chop.

Suprised Becker's bracelet in the mixed triple draw event went unnoticed. Not often that the best player in the tourney actually wins.

Are you there again railing this year, Utah? Guess John Smith is the hero to many a fun player, so this is one of my favourite tournaments to rail every year ... happy to have recovered enough from my cold just in time! Was looking at the updates, but they only seem to have listed a handful of matchups so far - looks like 2+2 has the freshest news

Any pics to share?

Yep. This is my first day here this year. I'm about to jump into the 4pm deepstack.
I have a few pics I can post later.

Hellmuth just lost to Katz (not on stream right now so no spoilers). I don't know what happened but I saw him walking out and a couple people asking for a picture and saying "I know it's a bad time sorry". He said good job Cary and walked off after the pics.
