Chris Ferguson has cashed in 7 events so far. John Hennigan has cashed in 4. Anyone know someone else who has cashed more then these two so far?

Shaun Deeb, eight: http://www.wsop.com/players/profile/?playerID=26176
Barry Greenstein, seven: http://www.wsop.com/players/profile/?playerid=263
Michael Noori, seven: http://www.wsop.com/players/profile/?playerID=120379
Justin Young, seven: http://www.wsop.com/players/profile/?playerID=12627

I'll stop there. A quick scan of the WSOP POY standings makes it easy to find. It would be hard to have seven or more without being in the top 100.

The Hendon Mob has a page for exactly that, but it's difficult to find it. (It took me 20 minutes).

At the time of writing, Deeb has 8 cashes, and BarryG is among several with 7. http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/rank...source=THMGPIS

Top five as of right now:

1 United States Shaun Deeb 8
2 United States Chris Ferguson 7
3 United States Barry Greenstein 7
4 United States Justin Young 7
5 United States Ben Yu 7
6 United States Michael Noori 7
7 Austria Ismael Bojang 7

It's easily found on the WSOP website.

An interesting thing I've noted from looking at the leaderboards:

As recently as 2011, the leader in cashes for the entire WSOP had 7. Shaun Deeb already has 8, and the series isn't even halfway through.

The way they pack the WSOP schedule now, having many cashes is a good indicator of having a good series, but in many cases not a great one.

In the time a player needs to get to a FT (and has to skip at least the early event the next day because of being hungover), others get in 3 mincashes.

Thanks for the links! I'm surprised Ferguson isn't higher on the POY list with 7?

Deeb is also beasting it this year so far. I wonder if these guys are playing every game?

More events now and they pay deeper. 15% instead of 10

They also keep registration open much later than they used to and a lot more event allow reentries. In many events, you can buy in at the last moment, double up once, and fold your way to a min-cash.

Which events are structured in such s way that a novice could do that?

The lower buy in NL events. But I'm not sure why you'd want to except for chasing POY points.

A mincash is only worth 1.5x the buy-in, and when you hit the money, you'd be so short you'd have very little chance of a substantial cash. But last year at least, the POY formula was giving way to many points to mincashes. I'm not sure if they adjusted it.

Deeb was playing 2 tournaments at once, going deep in both and running to tables between hands. Pretty hilarious to watch.

Yeah I'm really not a fan of this at all. Not sure why late registration is open so late for every event and why more and more are allowing re-entry.

+1, re-entry is BS. Why should I have to bust someone 2 or 3 or 4 or even 5 times!! Gives unfair advantages to pros with limitless bankrolls.

Didn't barry greenstein talk about how tournaments are a waste of his time cause cash games are where he makes money on both podcasts with joey not even a couple months ago xD

Let’s see: Player Z wants to enter an event late or re-enter after he busted. Now the casino has two options, a) let him in and collect rake or b) keep him out and don’t collect rake.

Do you see a reason now?

If you owned a grocery store and somebody wanted to buy milk 1 minute before closing time, would you want your employees to sell him that milk or tell the guy he’s to late and should go to the 24/7 store across the street?

Seriously, they could add alot more freeze-out tourneys. The majority of their lower end buy in tourneys are like unlimited buy ins, not even worth joining if you aren't wanting to reload. The monster stack is the only one worth playing.

Wasn't Ferguson doing exactly this last year in the big field, multi entry, no limit events?

If you think rebuys are unfair you must think very little of your own edge in the game.

That was my impression. It made his lead for WSOP POY seem totallg fraudulent to me, at least until he won a bracelet in Europe.

The biggest problems with very late entries or rebuys is that it destroys the structure of the tournament.

You generally start out deep stacked and the average stack gets gradually shallower, but still fairly deep in the middle of the tournament because people are busting out as the blinds go up.

But then eight levels into the tournament, three new players show up at your table with 10 BBs, and you just have to play push/fold until they at least double up or bust.
