Man right now the top 13 has RIDICULOUS quality..

I guess year after year what's becoming the trend is, the final tables are getting tougher and tougher. I think this is due to pros having several years experience to navigate through massive fields. A few years ago, it had only been a few years where fields have been this big so a lot of people while great players, just didn't have the experience. Now they do and they get to the end.

I think these days it's harder for a Jamie Gold, Darvin Moon, or Jerry Yang to dominate to the end.

Seems like Bryan Devonshire (MaverickUSC on 2+2) has been flying under the radar. Looks like he's 11th in chips. He got 12th place back in 2011 & dude's a beast and seems like a great guy. Loved him on pokerroad podcasts back in the day. Had great on-air chemistry with gobbo. Rooting for Devo!!

^ you kidding? That is Vladimir Bozinovic

- - -

My lack of sleep make me do terrible moves at the poker table

Also makes me search for ridic stats

"..leave just two females remaining; Maria Ho and Mikiyo Aoki"

Can Maria Ho become the first woman to be the last woman standing on 2 Main Events?

3x more starting chips+ smaller sizings+more checking strong hands+ bigger fields it is really hard for bad players to go deep though Moon played really well I thought.

Great point

It also makes it harder for the names who got well known back in the day to go deep now when they probably weren't ever really that good. That leads us to now where most people say who are these people left, i've never heard of any of them. You really only get one chance per year to make a name with most americans that follow televised poker and it is super unlikely to happen more than once in a 4-5 year time span

Ho is shortstacked. ~700k according to pokernews. Would be cool if a woman made the final table though.

To honor Maria's achievement, the last woman standing should be called the Ho from now on.

4th in chips is Dan Sindelar, who used to play (still?) on FTP as dsindy at high stakes. Very tough field left.

I wonder if we have 9 left for an Over 40s November 9 or an Over 50s November 9?

Looks like a tough field in WSOP main. The first 4 in chip counts are names I recognize, that feels weird in a event like main event. Rooting for Urnotindanger, take it down!

Let see if Newhouse can finish 24th or better
I guess this is technically correct since the "November Nine" thing is relatively new, but calling it a record is kind of lol. Dan Harrington made back-to-back Main Event final tables in '03 and '04. Johnny Chan got heads up for the bracelet in 3 consecutive years.
