Jacobson was wearing earplugs to block out the noise of the Penn and Teller Theatre.

what does that even mean? hellmuth doesn't bring anything but a big name to the broadcast. his analysis of poker has always been terrible. he is a great player, but he isn't good at explain his thought process. i thought it white magic segment on last years wsop was the worst thing i have ever seen.

big difference between talking in an interview that everyone can see and actually looking at the $6M pay jump from 3rd to 1st. i don't think they made a deal, but they had to at least think about it. i thought after watching jacobson snap call with AT that they made a deal, but the more i see it and think about it i think he was actually raising to induce a van hoof shove.

Watching a replay of the FT and sync-reading this thread on the side was the best entertainment I had in a long time!!

NVG clowns - who have a FT in a $20 online MTT as their biggest poker accomplishment - berating the #1 & #2 all time money winners (Negreanu, Esfandiari) and #7 all time money winner + multiple WSOP record holder (Hellmuth) is just pure comedy. You guys registered in 2010, got a 1k bankroll and live with your parents, while those guys played the biggest MTTs for decades and are still here taking home the $$$.

But that's why poker is so great and will always be profitable. Everybody can win any given day. You only need to run good for a day or two to get and stay delusional about your own skills for a year or two.

Congrats to Jacobson, dude has been a sicko for years and his hard work finally paid off big time!
Negreanu, Hellmuth and Esfandiari are live luckboxes who would all lose at NL100+. This is widely known.

3 handed ATo might as well be AK there...clearly the plan was to 3bet/call.

Anyone with jewelry knowledge know if that bracelet is actually worth $500K? Didn't see any big diamonds on it.

Jacobson has always appeared to be a very humble individual, even though he was one of the most experienced tournament player heading into the final table. Glad to see someone with the skills and pedigree, and all around good guy--win it.

I am just interested. For the Pappas' bustout hand. Can Van Hoff muck his Jacks and give the main pot(less than 1 sb) to Pappas in order to not letting others know his 4-bet holdings?

Lay off Lon. Dude is calling a 12 hour event live and has to avoid dead air at all costs. He doesn't have time to evaluate, he has to talk.

ETA: going back to staring at natural's avatar now.

Size isn't the only factor when it comes to the monetary worth of a diamond. So what you are saying is false.

Doesn't come from prize pool. Wsop pays out of their pocket, a very discounted rate as a result of the jeweler being a sponsor.

And yet the WSOP can barely afford anything for the POY winner and runner-up.

From Marc-Andre Ladouceur facebook (was on Jacobson's rail):

Unreal to see Martin take it down no chop like a boss. His work ethic and preparation over last few months was top notch. I've never seen a rail so focus (and sober) Good work fellas, very Inspiring..
