Sebok's mistake was to use the moral crusador card when signing for UB. He should have just worn the hat and quietly cashed the cheque(s). Other sponsored pro's such as Roothless, Baldwin and Devo seem to have got a free pass despite happily taking the UB dollar.

Didn't IKE continue to play on UB after it had been shown they were a bunch of crooks?? Seems like greed for money can get the best of us all sometimes.

So we too could become a circle jerking cancer site?

I'm guessing Sebok's signing is purely based on his 1m twitter followers? How does this ass clown get 1m followers to begin with? And why the **** does WPT think his twitter followers are worth whatever they're paying this scum bag?

Regarding the missing UB hand histories:

Rumor has it that they were stored under a giant mound of cocaine, and Joe Sebok and Paul Leggett were both doing their best to get to the bottom of it. But alas, Black Friday came and put a stop to that project.

it wasn't greed, ike certainly calculated that the risk of being scammed somehow was outweighed by the softness of the games, he was aware of the risks unlike the general public.

I think we should be doubting the WPT's entire business model as well. I mean, they're betting that Sebok's popularity or appeal or whatever qualities they see in him heavily outweigh the fact that the more hardcore poker base holds him in bad repute. This might be shrewd business on paper but it's disrespectful to the game. I think the WPT should stop flipping the bird to the players while simultaneously treating the casual viewers like idiots.

over 100 posts in this thread and..

With the WPT broadcasts being basically informercials now, similar to professional wrestling pre-cable, saying you won't watch really doesn't matter. I highly suggest creating club wpt accounts and chatting up those paying customers about the signing.

He lied repeatedly to people from whom his bosses had stolen millions of dollars, in the face of a ton of people repeatedly pointing out that he was lying. He did an incredibly good job of distracting people from figuring out what actually happened and taking proper action by providing them with false hope that he was somehow the point man for this stuff when he was really just a paid shill.

My own personal dealings with him left me with a really bad taste in my mouth, and I know a ton of similar stories.

so was he actually involved in the super user thing or is that unknown?

For example, here's a thread about him threatening to blackmail someone's girlfriend because he was talking about the UB cheating scandal publicly: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29...witter-999564/.

I mean.. I don't think the fact that this guy is a scumbag is really debatable.

He wasn't involved in it happening. He helped cover it up.

Is the WPT software still just a rebranded version of UB's old client? Just another link between these two companies if it's still the case...

Great post Ike. It's ridiclous Joe Sebok still has a place in the poker community considering he's scum like the Annie, Howard, Jesus, etc. This is the most questionable sign the WPT has ever made, no matter what they signed Sebok for.

In regards to his twitter, on July 6 he said he is looking to potentially sell 50% of his ME for 1.4-1. That's ridiculous...according to Hendon Mob he doesn't have a cash in 2012, and his cashes since 2010 total to a little less than $25k. Funny thing is he sold out his action.

The problem with this idea is we found out that ClubWPT was using the pre-merger, cheating codebase, old school UB interface. I convinced a shareholder to ask Ryan about it and Ryan said he gave a copy of the platform to Russ Hamilton pre-2007 for free. No real explanation why and of course there was nothing in the public financials or quarterly presentations discussing this giveaway of company IP, even though dozens of lesser company events were routinely documented and discussed in presentations.

Hamilton used the software in his own company, it was called ClubUBT. That company was later sold to WPTE (lyle berman as major shareholder). WPTE was then sold to party and that included the Club software. I guess its possible Russ is still cheating folks using that interface, I mean at least when he's not hitting the tracks at TPC Summerlin.

I wrote a blog post about one example that should be easily googleable. I avoid linking to my own blog on 2p2 because it sets a bad example.

It's not the most interesting story, so probably don't bother to read this, but here's the cliffs. I can't check them because Joe has now apparently blocked me on Twitter, so I'm sure a bit of this is slightly wrong:

I exposed yet another way that AP/UB was screwing over customers, (They had a rigged Keno game because they were too incompetent to set up a decent RNG: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29...vg-zoo-898568/, which is pretty scary for a gambling company.)

Joe and the company both promised repayment. 2 months later, nobody had been repaid. I started mentioning this regularly on Twitter.

Joe at first said that what I was saying wasn't true and people had actually been repaid. Then he insisted that we take the conversation private (which seemed to be him MO every time someone publicly criticized UB. "That's not true." "Yes it is." "Oh, let's talk about it privately."). Then he acted like he was confused why I wanted people to be repaid for having played in a rigged game that he and his bosses promised people would be repaid for. Then he kept lying to me that somebody was going to talk to me, which never happened.

Then he told me that we were going to be paid in a week. I asked if I could talk about our conversation on Twitter, and he gave permission. He got mad at how I worded it (The company ran a rigged Keno game, didn't pay players, and lie about it. It's hard to sugar coat that...). I pussied out and removed the tweet like a few minutes after I'd posted it and apologized (I did nothing wrong and should not have done this, but whatever). In spite of that, he portrayed himself as the victim, flipped out at me, and stopped talking to me.

I was of course never contacted by anyone at AP in spite of his repeated promises that I would be. I only got repaid months later when I wrote a blog post about it that got a lot of attention.

This is obviously a drop in the ocean relative to what he did re: the superuser scandal. He's really good at wasting time and deflecting criticism. He seems to conveniently forget every goddam time that what he's said turns out to be false.

I'll never understand WPT's business move here. Absolutely ridiculous and I'm so damn sick of Sebok making money with no skills whatsoever and being totally void of morals (which is amazing given that barryg raised him).

He has 1m followers bc he got in on twitter very early and knows the owners. New users are recommended to follow that assclown

1M Twitter followers is worth a ton. With my like 2.5k, I can easily get a few thousand people to click a link after retweets. Obviously that doesn't scale linearly, but I'd imagine that if Sebok tweets "Hey, click this link!" he probably gets tens of thousands of people to click regardless of content and hundreds of thousands to click if there's actually decent content. That's very valuable.
