It gets a little heated just before the 30-minute point, and then again at 31:15 and stays that way. More heat just after 37:00.

It's so frustrating hearing from those who have already performed the labor that was asked of them, and are now having to run around trying to get paid.

I feel that it's the responsibility of an employer to communicate these things in the first place before contracting with workers. Like if there's a chance that investors are going to withhold/delay payment if something doesn't go right on their end, I feel this should be communicated beforehand so prospective staff members can be aware of this risk from the outset.
At 35 min mark he says he doesn't know, but "Ms. Melton" knows..

SEC filing shows "Corinda Melton CEO / Principal Financial Officer" for FreeRolls.

A quick google search shows Corinda Melton(Age 62) is related to Trent Daniels (Age 46)

Nice catch, Mr Hellmuth, on the SEC filing.

Had no idea they tried to raise money in any formal way. Figured they just tried to raise funds informally from Tom, Dick, and Harry.

They raised 11K on a $10K target (expandable to $800,000) via CrowdFunding from 34 investors (I used the word investor liberally, as anyone that would give money to a owner with alleged shady past, and in a shady business, sort of deserves to lose all their money)

Crowdfunding is widely accepted as a reputable and smart way to raise capital in today's equity market, but given the only lightly regulated nature of it, is wrought with cockroaches and vermin.

Freerolls Entertainment, Inc. previously ran a Reg CF crowdfunding campaign to raise a target of $10,000 via GrowthFountain before a deadline of 08-01-2018. They filed this progress report at the end of the offering: "Issuer successfully raised $11,966, issuing 5,983 shares to 34 investors."

i hear you. am not saying i handled perfectly. why i quietly told a floor instead of making a scene is partially cause i was in the tourney on another table and B im not rrally trying to make that loudly known. my friends are working the event and palying in the event and i dont wantmproblems. i will take the heat for not doing enough.

update - for the most part people are getting checks that are paying them in full - from the count i got there were about 30 some odd dealers and about 20 or so checks were delivered yesterday and all reports were that it was payment in full

the negative activity on FB has always quieted down completely which is a good sign as well - that being said I would say there are doing everything possible to clear their way to putting this all behind them

one step at a time - the situation was (imo) a combination of circumstances and not being prepared for eventualities.

I am not affiliated with nor have any stake or financial interest in freerolls - I am only reporting the facts as reported to me but striving to get confirmation before posting by multiple sources.

That being said - i don't wish ill will to any of the owners or operators but stand full on the side of the dealers to do what I can to help them get paid. By posting I only hope this achieves that goal. Nuff Said.

wasn't one of those circumstances 40K of prizepool evaporating into thin air?

no..that has been dealt - there was no aspect of the prize pool that was messed with - the total number of chips vs the payout was nearly identical and in line with the fact that some players gave up their stacks for re-entry

If there was an incident that chips were introduced into the tournament without payment - Freerolls stepped up and paid based on the chips count and not the accounting - that being said to falsify the chip count they would have to taken chips OUT of the tournament and i don't know any circumstance in which a player that bags his chips would not full well know EXACTLY how many chips he would have when he came back.

the tip pool also is in line with the facts and survey of people that did tip

also two people i spoke with got checks for 40% and 45% respectively. progress...but its still a process.

One thing ive said to a couple people that sticks in my mind...if you worked for freerolls south you know all of our checks were habitually late and it was a struggle to get paid out but we all got it eventually.....and then four months later the same thing happens, how can anyone reasonably think its a coincidence and not a business model that is designed on the principle of **** dealers, as long as they get it eventually its fine? Anybody who worked the WPT and freerolls south washolding their breathe about paychecks and coincidentally and unexpectedly trent and charles ran into the exact same problem with the
exact same outcome. I personally like Trent and Charles as people, i think that A) they live in a different financial reality then dealer and dont understand how even 24 hours csn **** up our whole lives with holding our money, much less coming off a month
b) we put up with it the first time and gave them another chance so they assume we will take this.

They were talking in thar meeting with a straight face about people still working for them....thats a level of naivete' or optimism you just dont see. I can also say what i think happened

bottom line they had a shortfall and had to choosw between reconciling with wpt and paying staff and honestly wpt has scary lawyers so the dealer community took it up the tailpipe...what would hace happened to dealers if nobody else wanted to invest or give trent money? i dont know. at this point it looks like most everyone will get paid but i dont like this attitude from their camp of trying to silence people...he warned his employees in the meeting to not badmouth them or speak publicly or "they would hear about it". i got a phone call warning me yo update my resume after i posted on fb questioning the 8100 number...they want to give people checks and tell the poker community to shutup and "move forward".....i dislike the stance is all

Glad to see that their is progress being made. I'm not sure if their were bad intentions, but this was obvious stupidity to start this before they were ready. The poker business in Houston is competitive, and to have these problems before you even open the doors is ridiculous. There are so many choices to choose from where you dont have to worry about their financial problems, I can only imagine you would choose those first.

I am in conversation constantly with people on both sides and all levels -whether I want to be or not

I don't feel that I am being used as a conduit but in most cases as a sounding board for my experience and feelings - I don't hold back on my opinion to either side

what I mean is its hard to decipher fact from fiction ITT.

some posters are likely associated with the club, it would be helpful to know who they are so their info can be taken in context.

I have no assocation with the club and don't know anyone that does.

I do care about poker players and staff getting ripped off, if in fact that happened.

Can any third party, independent person provide the following info.

1) What was buyin? starting chip stack?

2) What were published payouts?

3) What were chipstacks when heads up started?
