You might like Sviten Special

Split pot game, player with the best 5 card draw hand takes half, player with best PLO hand (any 4 of their 5 cards can be used) takes the other half

Plays the same as PLO with 5 cards in your hand though, you can discard up to 5 cards after the flop betting round. There is betting after the turn and river rounds as well, no discarding

Some players are chasing the best 5 card draw hand, some are going for the PLO pot, big pots always have a 3rd and 4th with decent but not good enough hands

The rare times a player wins both pots are pretty great, not sure it's even played much outside of Sweden and Finland

^we typically just call it Drawmaha, but Sviten Special was, for a while, the number one most picked game in a dealer's choice rotation I described on the previous page, here in Poland. We only have one non-standard rule: if you draw one card, you get it face up and can either accept it, or discard it and get another one face-down. This is to encourage people to play 4-straights and 4-flushes preflop, which are typically a bit weak.

personally I like the game a lot, the non-linear relationship between best plo and best 5-card draw hands is quite punishing to the nits and makes for great action

that being said, after a few months, vips in the game started complaining and eventually banning the game from the rotation. Not sure what was the reason, I think that they felt that they were losing too fast

The guys I play with play a ton of variants. They are all tired of especially NL but also basic PLO. I like those traditional games but my friends are very gambly so its best to oblige them for the good of the game and I like the challenge of solving random variants on the fly as well.

We have found double board is a pretty bad variant. It gets very nitty, and a lot of split pots. Too often just two guys flop well and end up chopping while everyone else folds the flop. Gambly guys dont have enough incentive to gamble post flop and "reggy" players end up nutpeddling a lot more than in NL/PLO.

We have a ton of fun additions that add some spice but the easiest and also one of the best imo is 2 cards on the turn PLO, especially H/L. It gives the gamblers what they want - chasing draws and they can come along for the turn quite reasonably with a lot of hands. Of course they make a lot of mistakes playing like this, but they get there often enough for it to be fun for them, they cant really be blown off their hand on the flop because its pot limit, and when they lose they often get a quarter of the pot so it takes longer to get completely busted which feels better.

Using 2 decks negates a lot of that.

The chances of a player having 2 unplayable hands in a 2 deck/2 board game are significantly smaller than traditional 1 deck/1 board game. Hence, more action.

I've played it in Resorts World during the series, 5 card PLO double board , every dealer change 5th card face up (and bigger ante), it sounds crazy and big etc but it's mostly pretty nitty with ALOT of split pots. That said there's still edge to be had imo, it's pretty easy for players to tilt and there were def some fun players in the game.
