I don't necessarily agree, but using the word ******ed is viewed as politically incorrect these days (derogatory term just like saying "that's gay"). I was pretty shocked that the clown commentating not only said it but repeated it more than once.

this is why I could never be a pro player (and not my obvious lack of poker skill). I would have backhanded him and got kicked out of tourney, lost sponserships, etc. No way I could laugh at something like this if it was done to me.

So berate them as much as you want, but be fair and don't claim all Germans slowroll or whatever.
Yeah Germans hardly slowroll..

The whole hand is just insane. Did anyone notice that Darus took 97 seconds to shove kings and Luca tanked 17 seconds with 62o..

Cliffs for those who missed it.

Canada has Germany covered.

Italy raise cut off
Germany (btn) has AA re raises
Canada (sb) has KK re-raises all in.

bb folds

German kid checks his cards, thinks for ~1min and calls a timeout

They laugh about this stupidity, comes back and then announces call with AA.

Table go's nuts.

Board runs out dry.
Germany doubles through Canada.

After hand German Captain (Jan Heitmann??) claims he called a timeout because the kid didnt look sure. (tv footage would suggest the douche kid called time out)
The kid claims he was nervous to get AA in pre.
if it was Germany vs Belgium or Poland it wouda been an blitzkrieg call

I also posted a reply to this in the official PCA thread, but it bears repeating: although this is funny, it's NOT an intentional slowroll.

The guy is a $5 sit and go player, who genuinely wondered whether he should be putting his entire team's well-being at risk. Yes, yes, I know he had aces and any player worth the name should be happy to get it all in pre-flop with aces. But the World Cup is a peculiar team event, where in the final five players play from the same stack as a team. They have built this up over three (non-televised) days.

As the most inexperienced player on the team, this guy simply didn't feel comfortable jeopardizing his whole team's tournament and opted to double check with his captain.

Jan Heitmann, the team captain, actually said afterwards that HE had called the timeout from the stands when he saw his player looking uneasy. The television footage shows the player at the table making the "T" for timeout with his hands, but this was in response to Heitmann's suggestion.

There are a couple of comments on a few forums on the subject from people who were at the event - myself included. And everyone there will tell you (including Suharto, Pagano and Heitmann) that he really didn't intend to slowroll.

By all means laugh at how ridiculous it is, but it's nothing to get vindictive and xenophobic about. It simply shows a beginner making a mistake of etiquette. The guy wouldn't have even known the meaning of the world "slowroll" before it happened; there is absolutely nothing intentional about his actions.

In that case can we focus on how ludicrous it is for this event to be called "The Poker World Cup" ? When a guy doesn't know he should call an all-in preflop with Aces ?

So harsh. Dude took it well though. I don't believe the excuses, it all looked very calculated to me and you knew he was thinking, "Yeah, look at me, I'm so cool'. I think it was the opposite and just childish in the end.

tbh, europeans often do exactly the same towards americans. Obviously you managed to mask it with the addition of "a lot", but i've heard many comments about how "all americans are so stupid, generalizing everything"

I'm not masking what you think i'm masking. I also don't said people from the USA but people from North America. I really don't think all Americans are like this. It's just that when I see someone making a rude generalization about a country it's usually someone from North America. And yes, of course people all over the world do this. It just seems that people from North America do this a lot more often, even in some of their media(not meaning comedy shows but serious news programs etc)
