Why is noone talking about that last hand in the main? That was a massive punt with j4 heads-up imo.

This is my last post in this thread in this the final day of WSOP 2022.

Here is a link to 2022 Poker Hall of Fame Inductee the late Layne Flack talking about ultimately becoming inducted...

https://youtu.be/ZVbVN7C4H_c?t=2927

It is in an interview he did three years before today. It's at the 48:47 mark.

Good bye, WSOP 2022.

A fitting ending for the WSOP 2022.

The final bracelet won in this year's WSOP for the Tournament of Champions event, is won by a person who never before won a wsop bracelet, who never before won a live wsop ring event.

The winner of the WSOP Tournament of Champions, Benjamin Kaupp qualified for the Tournament of Champions after winning an Online $215 WSOP.com PA Circuit event.

The watering down of the WSOP brand is now complete.

anyone who has ever placed any importance on bracelets is utterly clueless. there are people from the 70s who won bracelets in events with less than 10 people. some guy bill boyd won a bracelet in stud where there was one other entrant. he then got a bracelet the next year for "winning" when he was the ONLY entrance. it doesn't get much more watered down than that.

10k event with 8000 people- bracelet. 50k with 100 people bracelet. some mix game event with 60 people- bracelet! the only thing funnier is circuit rings.

at least this TOC is Caesars giving some money back to the players.

I'll agree with you there.
I can't remember the last time Caesars gave some money back to the players.
A rare thing indeed.

We were talking about it but got we got derailed by the shooting scare. Consensus seems to be he should have folded turn. My old-school view says fold flop: we were bluffing, we got raised, so it's time to fold. But most people believe in "raising for protection" and "pot odds" so I understand the consensus.

I think they have had this TOC thing for years, just not at WSOP.

SenorGuzman agrees completely with this sentiment. Years ago an event was bragging that they were giving a bracelet to the winner, and SenorGuzman was widely admonished for suggesting that the cash value of the bracelet be added to the 1st place prize instead. The wise poker professional understands that bracelets won is merely a metric for the vain.

Wow, didn’t know there was a bracelet winner who was only entrant

But then again, he had to either be the best or close to it. If he was a 5 card stud fish he’d get action

Just like Stu Ungar at gin. The legend went that if he entered a tournament, everyone would drop out.

Why isnt this dude in the hall of fame??

Imagine the skill gap needed to not have a single person dare put up their money. His Bracelet where no one dared face him is worth more than the LOLdonkament winners we get every year these days.
