Will "racism" be the cause of live poker's downfall? Will "racism" be the cause of live poker's downfall?

I have been playing poker in my poker room with Player A for more than 5 years. In all that time, we have played with actors, doctors, politicians, college students, lawyers, offshore oil workers, athletes, soldiers, tourists, businessmen, bookies, locals.... of all different race, religions, ethnicities, sex, economic backgrounds, neighborhoods.... etc.

But last night I have heard the wildest accusation ever... and it's troubling me:

Player A is a middle-aged white guy (a regular) who's been playing an aggressive game, betting big pre and following up with c-bets 90% of the time. Some of the times his hand showed down and he had a premium hand, other times he showed when players folded to his turn bet... again showing premium pocket pairs.

Player B is a Hispanic tourist who likes to see flops with trash but is being forced to fold because Player A has been very alpha at this 10-handed ⅓ game.

At one point during the night - Player B literally says to Player A - that Player A is a racist because "the only reason you're raising my blinds is because I have brown skin!"

In all my years of playing poker, I have always thought of our poker room in the South as a pretty good representation of the US.

So if this is true.... IS THIS WHAT'S TO BE EXPECTED OF THE U.S.? And Poker?

Is every action that rubs somebody the wrong way going to be interpretted as racism in our everyday world?

No, "racism" won't be the cause of live poker"s downfall.

I will contact Reverend Al Sharpton immediately and we will arrange a sit in with BLM across America at various casinos. This is the only true way to stop the down fall of poker!

Player B is an idiot, and a bad poker player.

Yes since, for the first time in 5 years, you have encountered an exchange at the tables that involved accusations of racism, clearly, inevitably, racism with be the cause of live poker's downfall. What other logical conclusion could one come to?

Dealers are going to starting taking a knee when they deal the flop I heard.

Fake claims of "racism" like this will be the cause of the downfall of SJW-thinking, thankfully.

I'd really appreciate hearing Justin Bonomos opinion on this one, its just to complex a problem for me to understand on my own.

The whole racism and political correctness thing has just got so over the top and out of control in the last 10 to 15 years that it allows people to abuse the power it gives them and make ridiculous accusations. You can't even fart without being accused of racism, sexism, or some other kind of 'ism' these days. Here in the uk, lots of our classic tv comedies from the 80's have to be edited when they're shown now so they don't upset any of this new super-pc nit generation. It's a joke.

Come play in Vancouver...9 Asians and me at a table sometimes...and I have no idea wtf they are saying.

Pokerstars should not allow to color tag people at the table any more.
