would love to talk more with people that have at a minimum a passing knowledge of NFT space and particularly anything emerging projects in the NFT poker space.
I just spent some time looking into Axie Infinity. Individual characters are selling for $1.5 mil. An average price of $300 per character, $1k for a full team of 3. The game has a cost of entry of 15 ps5 games. There is a total market cap of 7 billion of the currency.
The game is like Neopets mixed with Hearthstone. But with slot machine mechanics like Raid Shadow Legends. This makes the game pay to win, takes away skill, and relies on whales to keep the economy afloat.
I checked out some videos on youtube of the game, and a common theme I noticed is that everyone is talking about how great of an investment it is, rather than how fun it is to play. It's also really funny that most of the youtubers look about 30-40 and are unironically playing a game that looks like Webkinz.
I'm sure there will be people who make some big money out of this, but in my opinion the majority will get burned.
