Will NFTs become a thing in poker? Will NFTs become a thing in poker?

NFTs (non-fungible tokens) are becoming popular online, with tweets and various other things being sold as NFTs.

Do you think NFTs in poker will become a thing? Will famous hand histories from highstakes battles or the prominent HU challenges be sold as NFTs?

Here is a short article on NFTs if you aren't familiar with them. You can also just google and find more information about them.

virtue poker is trying to put poker on the blockchain. Think it will fail for obvious reasons (collusion etc).

Maybe live tournament wins could become a NFT (If you win one).

Poker NFTs would be like when someone sells their main event bracelet on eBay, apart from when you win the auction you don’t actually get the bracelet.

i read the whole article and the whole NFT concept seems incredibly stupid, another weird thing for the ultra-rich to "invest" lol their endless dollars into.

2.5m usd to own a tweet, that no one can see you "own" lol it, or like who tf cares, dope. imagine bragging about that lmfao

2.5 million for owning a tweet that anyone can and has seen for free.

I don't really get NFTs.. Seems pretty ridiculous to me. But it would be kinda cool if sites issued trophies for tourney wins as NFTs. Most of them would obviously be worthless, but something like Vanessa Kade's Sunday Million Anniversary could have some value. It'd cost the sites nothing to do and you could have a virtual trophy cabinet.

That **** is just to raise the profile of NFTs

It’s actually not that bad a concept if u consider esports and mmo rpgs where you can basically cross Minecraft with WoW or LOL.... and own weapons, cloaks, bots, lands, vehicles etc. Spice things up with some VR and u can kinda feel where this is going.

The art thing is a bit faddy. But say ur the best modder in the world right now when it comes to blockchain gaming etc. NFTs are yo jam.

You guys remember how we used to mod **** back in the day right ? Imagine that being a feature of poker stars and a way to be a content creator

Ok I get what you're saying. at least that is kinda cool and probably not as expensive, lets see if it actually does go that way instead of this silly ****

I had never heard of this before but after reading about the idea Im sure that everything digital that can be put a value upon as an NFT will be within the next decade.

The question of whether "poker NFTs" will ever be valued above a piece of chewing gum is an entirely different one.

People will throw their money at anything so I wouldn't be shocked but makes no sense to me.

I know some artists are placing their new albums for sale on NFT markets which seems interesting but I won't pretend to grasp the concept even the slightest.

I haven't been on this site in years but I'm glad to see high quality humour still resides here. A+

Also, OP is late to the game. NFT is already a thing in poker:

NFTs were a poker thing even before crypto ... like when ppl oversold action or sold action but didn't play or just sucked but had a recognizable name. you bought something of value, but had nothing. simpler times for sure ...
