Well-known pros seem to be doing abnormally well at this years' WSOP. Why?


More non-hold'em events?

More pros playing more events?

Better structures? (supposedly Negreanu's doing)

Weaker non-pros?

Rigged by sponsors?


Or is all this just this just an illusion, and it's donkaments as usual?

but as mike said: someday the only people in the WSOP will be those staked by Ivey, Forrest, Lindgren, Doyle ... and the Stars FT players + maybe 20 more - all others will be busto.

Just a thought, might be why they are called pros. Just cause a bunch of kids have computers, it don't mean they can play cards

Because they are professionals and have learned and adapted . it was only a matter of time imo. im guessing they probably realized that trying to outplay random donks is a bad idea and instead just play ABC style with the occasional overbet shove when they have the nuts against a guy who really seems to like his hand and would also LOVE to knock out a big name pro. just a guess. whatever the reason is, im glad il get to see some final tables this year with people who deserve to be there.

i think its the structures cuz they have much more play this year meaning the pros can utilize wat they know and take advantage of the less skilled players, its annoying how some ppl on this thread r saying that its rigged and **** cuz its obv not ITS THE FRIGGIN WORLD SERIES u idiots.

There are more non Holdem events plus there are more higher buyins. This leads to mostly pros in some events with smaller fields which makes it look like the pros are doing better than past years.
