I can't believe people are taking op seriously
Gotta agree here, there is no way the OP is being serious.

so now this thread is turning into a tardfueled jamie gold hatefest
uh, fu.

First post was about Doyle.

I'm not hating on Gold at all. Negreanu was just pretty damn good there.
im sorry if my quoting your post gave the impression i was talking about you. i was talking about the guy that you quoted.
Ok, well, peace.

Most likely, OP was serious originally, but once he realized what a gooftard he'd made of himself he figured he'd try to get out of it (admission, stand in line, where is Bobby's Room).

At this point, OP's best move would be to write this account off and register another one.

I can tell you his home games are legendary..if you have $100K min to get in the front door you can see how good he is..lol I read a Phil Ivey quote about almost [censored] his pants debating a $230k pot vs Doyle...the guy is a legend and should be revered for it!!
Nuff Said...Beast!

I would love to play Doyle in a heads up cash game. I would just play very agressive and Doyle's call station style would get dominated.
Uhh, you know Doyle is still active, right? Just head down to Bobby's room and put your money where your mouth is at.

If you need money, just arrange to get staked. You should have no trouble drumming up the cash with your breatto htaking insight into poker theory.
How much to get in? I'm sure there is a line to play a "legend". Also where is Bobby's Room.
LOL

Brilliant laydown. Although it probably had more to do with his knowledge of Chip than anything else.

I wonder if he put Chip on AA/KK or a set ... ?
i wonder if it had to do with chip sending him a signal like from the old days when they used to cheat

I seriously doubt it.

Why is Jimi Hendrix considered to be so good? There are hundreds of guitarist who can play better than him and not say "Blah Blah Woof Woof". I bet Ralph Machio would blow him away if they met at the Crossroads.
GOLD.

Did you see the coverage of the WPT event he won, especially the heads up? This guy has mad skills.
09-02-2007 , 08:43 PM
So does that mean I should return Super System 2?
09-02-2007 , 08:48 PM
OP is an awful troll.

ban OP to start, because i just dont believe anyone is honestly that dumb, but it does drive me absolutely crazy when people that play 5-10nl honestly believe their opinions mean anything to a guy that plays 300-600nl or 4k-8k mixed games. no matter what we may think of the high stakes pros decisions on tv we do not know any of the backround or psychology that is going into why they made a specific play. if we understood that level wouldnt we be playing that level. irritating

very well put crusher.
09-03-2007 , 01:44 AM
well, Doyle explains it himself in SS.

Quote:

The most important thing to remember is that poker is a game of people. You've got to know what makes your opponent tick, and more importantly, you've got to know what makes him tick at the very moment you're involved in a pot with him

Doyle's playing people, while we're playing cards.

As an added bonus, here's a great Phil Ivey quote

Quote:

Once you pass a certain level, particularly in NL play, the fundamental strategies mean less and less, and winning poker comes down to two simple questions: "Does he have the hand he's representing" and "Does he think I have a hand than can beat his hand, or the hand he's representing."
The point is, at the 300/600nl 4k/8k mixed level, everyone has all the strategies we study down so cold that if you played that way, you'd be eaten alive. Once you get past $100/$200NL, poker becomes ~ 90% Psychological 10% Strategy.

w/e, this is basically true, but I don't like to accept blanket statements like this. There are some very bad players at the highest buyins and there are some very good players at mid stakes who are on their way up and are just building their roll right now.

Brunson has admitted in atleast one interview in the past that he's a loser in the Big Game, and that he just plays now so he can be remembered as playing the biggest stakes for the longest time.

... doyle owning jamie gold multiple times on HSP
Did you actually watch this clip? What you describe is not what happens at all. Doyle turns the nuts and JG folds his OESD because Doyle overplayed it. Doyle bet/folds with air (correctly). And then Doyle gets owned by JG - owned by the same banter with which JG owned everyone at the WSOP FT.
