OP's question is both an interesting question and a stupid question.
Yes, the WSOP ME when Doyle won it was deep money and very strong pros.
Doyle has been by reputation one of the strongest players in the world for the last 40 years. You can't consistently beat the Big Game or any high stakes cash games without being a strong player.
Doyle plays a few of the highest buyin tournaments and does extremely well in them. He didn't get his WSOP bracelets by winning a bunch of $2K events.
Now many of the big name pros who have been on TV or won the ME recently are really donks who got lucky, wealthy amateurs, semipros, or grinder-type pros. They are much weaker than typical high stakes regulars, much less Brunson.
