I'd watch poker on TV if it included Sammy Farha and some Gong Show type variety hour.

1) changes in announcing team made it horribad
2) the network it was on wanted more people watching than apparently watched it
3) support from online poker entities dried up
4) not enough underwear gnomes
5) ???
6) no profit

I don't understand why PokerGO doesn't make a HSP style show.

As cool as the live programming is, the pre-recorded episodes of HSP were much more interesting and had better camera angles/production than is really possible with a live broadcast. Maybe they can't get a full table of known personalities to sit for several days like they used to.

Then again, I just prefer HSP to PAD which might be a minority opinion.

This whole "Millennials don't own TVs" thing is just straight up confusing. You guys know we need something to hook to the PS4, right? Now Cable, that's another story.

I watch the Poker Night In America and EPT Tv episodes on Youtube whenever they show up, but don't know many who still watch.

+1 On those saying that they prefer the edited versions to the live streams. Some live streams are somehow entertaining beginning to end (it mostly depends on the commentators), but most are just hours of tanking, it even kills the excitement out of the good hands. Who has 5-7 hours on a day to watch poker anyway?

Post-production costs money and the new business model is, apparently, to put out as much cheap content as quickly as possible. What I'd really like to know is why they keep enticing me with another 30-day free trial only to bring me to a website that doesn't work/cannot process my credit card. Apparently having a working website costs money too.

Had to chime in just to say everyone else chiming in to say "I don't own a TV" are ****ing pretentious *******s. I'm using a 60" TV as a computer monitor right now as I type this comment. I don't have cable or satellite but use it specifically for computer stuff and PS4 stuff. You suck and are also dumb. Take care.

At least I didn't have to Google 'pretentious' to check what it means.

I watch the YouTube poker vloggers on YouTube.
But, only the cash game stuff is interesting to me.
I don't watch tournament poker anymore. I didn't even bother to hardly watch much of the main event. Tournament poker, especially on t.v. Has become unbearably dull for me.

There's a few edited "free" shows of random Poker Go stuff I think on You Tube that has AJ Benza hosting. Pretty good stuff, but he worked best as a foil to GABE KAPLANNNNNN.

High Stakes Poker had 3 YUGE things

GABE KAPLAN

Big azz bricks on bricks

Lots of personality at the tables.

The best thing that the live streams of huge chunks of time can do is pay for a good announcer. Good meaning ENTERTAINING but also knowing the audience is at least somewhat versed in the game.

One thing I don't miss with every ****ing episode of every ****ing poker show ever, was there was ALWAYS a segment on HOW TO PLAY TEXAS HOLD EM.

At least we don't have to sit through that crap. Imagine four hours into a stream and getting an ad on how to play Hold Em.

I 100% agree!!!!! Back in the days 2003-2009 I use to get so excited when the wsop main event was going to start airing, I also use to watch every episode of WPT. Now a days though, just no interest at all. I only watch cash games.

I still enjoy watching but live stream especially high rollers are ultra boring. With all the respect at how good they are at poker, but they barely say a word for hours.
