Tesla is obviously very wealthy and is there to have fun and mix it up. I feel his poker sense is good. His seems plenty smart and sharp. Playing 70% of the hands in addition to playing those hands strong postflop (not just trying to hit flops like some other whales) is simply not a winning strategy.

The main thing is...that most like Rmbxr9 don't understand because they are probably very young and also probably not worth $100m plus is that he knows it's not a winning strategy. It's just a challenge to him and enjoyable to him to try. Some plays will look brilliant and some will look idiotic. I'm sure he is plenty capable of playing 35 vpip and playing better, but that would be boring to him.


If everyone at the table is trying to make a living playing poker, there is no more poker.

"I feel like his poker sense is good" followed by several sentences trying to explain why he's so bad at poker is certainly an interesting take.

People can be smart and successful in the real life while still being absolutely terrible and brain dead when it comes to poker.

It sounds like the type of thing someone would say about a whale at a table to keep them happy and eager to play again.

Anyway it's super obvious he's a rich guy who made his money outside of poker (I've heard someone say crypto investments?) which is good for him if he's able to punt $600k and keep coming back. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Doug and the rest of those Lodge regs were doing a happy dance knowing him, Curtis, and Airball were coming to play. The games are likely built around Tesla at this point.

Doing this at the table to the whale is important to do. Worrying about it on a random online forum is insane overkill. This is a poker forum after all. We can state the obvious, that he's a very poor player, without worrying that he will somehow stumble into this thread, read the comments, and never play poker again.

There is no way someone can say with a straight face that "his poker sense is good". Just watch the ****ing hand where he calls vs Polk w K6. Theres literally nothing he beats there.. and he snap calls. If he had any poker sense or hand reading ability at all he would fold in that spot, whether he is in the game to gamble or not. Its no longer gambling at that point - no fold equity, no potential suckout if hes behind, just an insane gift, where the only logic seems to be "top pair, I call".

The theoretically bad overbet jams on flop/turn, or even on rivers where HE is the one who gets it in first, are at least debatable. Big money fish wants to play aggressive and put pressure on the less wealthy players in the game, even though he might know he is bad often or that the sizing and hand selection are not "GTO approved". At least he has either a few cards to hit for the 2p/trips suckout, or he has some fold equity (like when he got xuan to fold AA because she didnt know how crazy bad he plays yet). But plays such as the K6 just show that he is just a non-thinking donk with too much money.

Someone like Bill Perkins fits the bill a lot more for a player who actually has poker sense but doesnt care about the money. Tesla does not.

I agree that he has good poker instincts. Here is why:

- He is playing really high vpip. When you play this style, you are going to have massive swings and most of the hands is you heads up / 3-way against two professionals. Managing this style is not easy and many players donÂ’t find enough bluffs / barrels who play this style and it makes them easily exploitable.

- But Tesla can bet most of his value because people are overcalling against him and he is aware of this also and gets good value bets in where many other players would not get paid

- Most of his bluffs are logical, he either has some sort of blocker or the way the hand played out, his opponentÂ’s range is quite weak / capped and itÂ’s good spot to bluff, for example the 72 vs Curtis

- When you play really fast and high vpip, you develop a feel for the game that you often lose with long tanks that pros are allowed to have in tournaments for example. Guys like Tesla and Solomon have played this style forever and when you play with them, you have to think fast and play fast and if you are not used to this, you will get destroyed

Problem with Tesla is that he stacks off too light and sometimes bluffs with inconsistent lines. But everyone has leaks and you guys who are bashing this guy for his plays are a bit short-sighted. He provided one of the most entertaining poker streams.

Poker needs more guys like Tesla who clearly enjoy the spotlight and can afford to play this ultra aggressive style. If you try to look at many of his hands in n objective way, you can find something for your own game also. Maybe he has found many spots where people are over folding that you havenÂ’t even thought about

A very important poker skill, to be fair.

I think it's great that they found a guy with more gamble than Taras .. who came out 'guns blazing' himself and has found out pretty quick that you need to play good poker most of the time after getting knocked in the nose a bit.

Unlike Alex (the Garret of TX?) .. a lot of these guys may feel that they need to mix it up in order to stay on stream.

They lost a good one with Bulldawg heading back over the pond until August .. that's a big seat to fill going forward.

Curtis had the full gamut of running well, getting coolered and making a big fold early on, but I missed most of the rest of the stream. What I think happened is he was playing a bit over his head (only two 50k bullets) and he found out quick that he was seated at a table of relentless Players who pounced on any sign of weakness .. which for Tesla is every 'Check' lol. Eventually if you don't make hands those Players will dwindle your stack .. and yes, the bust out hand was horrible. GL
