A guy in my 1 to 3 NLH game says the best player is his wife.

He was sitting right behind her watching her play as he told me this.

Her play looked pretty good to me and she was able to hit all kinds of miracle hands.

Ben89 is very good at nlhe and plo, but I don't recall him playng other games.
Trueteller and Sauce are probably the best all around players at the moment, because they basically can sit in every table/game without being a huge underdog.

the correct question is just that . who are the best players at the moment.

the real answer is who wins the money over time and keeps it. as in poker, winning and keeping the money is how you keep score.

and usually the most flamboyant players get the high rankings rather than the boring plodders that play properly and avoid the pitfalls which are many.

I'll enter the fray!
I don't know if I ever mentioned this before but I've come to the conclusion that poker is poker but all poker is different from each other.
What I mean is, stud is different from holde m, holde m is different from plo, nl holde m is different from limit holde m.
Also, cash game nl holde m is different form tournament nl holdem, is different from internet poker, etc,etc.
So, you can never generalize who the best poker player is.
Some people are great plo players but stink at nl holde m.
A lot of the great tournament players are lousy at cash.
These all require a different skill set.
Did I ruin the conversation?
