I can watch Max Steinberg talk without throwing up.

Beyond that, I enjoy his commentary when working with Tuck during the final table streams.

Finally, I believe you are an odd and sour individual.

Dan Harrington, Greg Raymer, Chris Moneymaker and Phil Galfond come to mind and for different reasons. The first 3 I've met and all showed patience and class with realistic humbleness with different personalities.
Phil I don't know but seems to be one of poker's best hope.

Of the "named" Pro's I have played with in tournaments Cliff Josephy(this WSOP) and JC Tran both stood out as friendly class acts at the table.

I would definitely add Dennis Phillips to this list but he is a special case since I played with him prior to 2008 in St Louis and occasionally in events since his big score........... My impression is that he has changed very little and is still just a decent guy.

I have never played with anyone mentioned here or any name pros. Harrington does appear like a real class act. Very much in control of his emotions. I envy that.

From my own personal experiences I would have to say Marcel Luske and Kirk Morrison.

It’s a charity hub that targets gamblers and puts an emphasis on efficiency of the charities.

A seemingly noble gesture but comes off as a bit hypocritical when promoted by someone who’s chosen poker as a profession.

Many of those discussed already are quite humble and friendly. Greg Raymer (named once but not really discussed) is very friendly and outgoing. Maria Ho is as well.

JRB, some people just want to drink, laugh and have a good time.

Hard to imagine Dan Harrington getting pissed off at anyone - great guy. And lol at thinking it’s “SJW” to suggest forward chip motion should be a call. What on earth is wrong with people like Kelvis - I suppose the most obvious thing is apparent lack of self confidence makes him think actual smart and talented people must be “arrogant”.

I've played w/ Barry Shulman a handful of times in Vegas and he has always been friendly to everyone.

+1 to a lot of names already mentioned too

Magriel was crazy as a loon, and easily could have been "most annoying" with the quack quack routine, but the guy was incredibly good natured, always friendly and humble, given his world-class gaming ability and background.

Along with much of the poker press, the New York Times did a long obituary on his passing, something rare for lower stakes limit holdem players.
I played with Paul several times and have to completely agree.

He was a very nice guy

To be fair the times didn't do a long obituary on him bc of low stakes hold em,they did it bc he's a backgammon legend.

Not sure "humble" is the best descriptor for him, but I find Nick Schulman's laid back demeanor and self-deprecating humor to be indicative of someone without much ego. At least among commentators, I'm not sure there is someone more wry than he is. For my money, he's the GOAT commentator when weighing technical analysis, verbal skills, tact, wit, and overall personality.

To be accurate, they did it because he died.

The obit contained a poker photo and some further discussion of his poker playing btw:

"Mr. Magriel made a small fortune from backgammon and later low-stakes poker. Playing poker, sometimes huddled disheveled over a table, he was known for uttering a signature “Quack, quack” when betting (usually a bet beginning with 22, the pair of numbers known in backgammon as double ducks and in poker as ducks)."
