Going off ppl I met and not just what it seems like from poker coverage...

Moneymaker is no 1 for sure then Galfond, Greenstein and Chad Brown (Rest In Peace).

Special mention to Johnny Lodden who was a top quality guy when I played with him at the PCA a few years ago.

Just looking at Max Steinberg makes me throw up. He is the opposite of humble. The REG thing he is wearing is just to show he is superior to you, nothing more.

A perfectly sane and emotionally balanced response.

The fact you can't see through him makes you rather oblivious.

I must confess that you're right - I'm unable to see through non-translucent objects. However I am able to see my projection in the mirror, and apparently I'm not alone in this ability.

A lot of high stakes pros rep/ donate to REG. It's a great cause and is a way to give back. It's absurd that you would shame people for doing that.

I am not shaming "people", I just think that he doesn't give a rats ass about charity and does it to make himself look better.

Steinberg busting Phil Ivey in '13 main event was funny. Pretty sure it was set over set and Max tried to make convo after giving the bad news and got ignored.

isnt the whole point of the REG patch so that you can feel superior to everyone else at the table?

"Like, 2 minutes four days ago.... but like..... give him more taaaaaime"

Tell me you can watch him talk without throwing up.

Then there's this hand where someone makes forward motion and Max goes all SJW saying "wtf was that that was a call!!111@". It ended up with a call. Max wasn't in the hand and the guy making the bet didn't even notice the "angle", also he was bluffing. Nice going Max. Can't find the video though.

edit: actually I can https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7S9X34_eAtk

These are the videos you came up with to justify your hate for the guy? In the first he asked if the guy called time on was giving enough time, and even DNegs who hates tanking in tournaments agreed with Max. And the third video is Max trying to protect another player from an angle shoot. And the second is just Max talking.

Look, you hate the guy, fair enough. We all hate some people. But you're coming up with ridiculous reasons to justify it.

First of all Dnegs agreed with him makes my argument stronger. Second the guy he was trying to "protect" didn't even notice and he basically screwed him over.

Point is he is trying to be this "I know best and I shall keep peace and order" type of person through which he (again) is trying to show his superiority. Why does he have to open his mouth the first second somebody does something he perceives to be wrong? In the first case the people complaining about the clock are distracting the player and it won't stop the floor from counting down. Make your case after the hand if you want. In the second case why didn't he wait for 3 seconds to see if this angle even did anything before completely destroying the action and getting the floor involved. If you see damage was done then you have a perfect case for bringing that up but he just has to open his mouth right away.

These are character traits that are just obnoxious and far from humble. If you disagree that's fine and you don't have to find this annoying yourself but don't call it ridiculous.

edit; actually this is pretty funny. The google result that showed the video was actually a 2+2 thread. Max apparently has a twin that I didn't know of and more people seem to be confused about that, so I gave Max some **** he didn't deserve. Also many people agreeing with me it being a horrible move. Funny how things stay in the family though. https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/3...shman-1382209/

Glad to see NVG always finds a way to turn every thread--even one about humble/friendly poker players--into a hatefest. If you hate Max, why not just STFU here and complain about him in the thread that is all about hating on poker players.

Is REG an online poker room? Have no idea what it stands for, thanks.

Hi Everyone:

My candidate would be Dan Harrington. If you’ve read any of his books you’ll see the great admiration he has for many other people, and that’s exactly the way he is in real life. Also, his co-author Bill Robertie is the same way, and it was my good fortune to work with and know them both.

Best wishes,
Mason

Paul Magriel, altho he passed away about four months ago and therefor may not qualify.

Magriel was crazy as a loon, and easily could have been "most annoying" with the quack quack routine, but the guy was incredibly good natured, always friendly and humble, given his world-class gaming ability and background.

Along with much of the poker press, the New York Times did a long obituary on his passing, something rare for lower stakes limit holdem players.

Harrington on Holdem is the only poker book I've ever read. Highly recommend it for new players.
