So are we only answering this thread with suggestions that are reasonable/possible? In that case, I agree with the poster above who offered up key grudge-match pairings. So Doug Polk and Alec Torelli.

If we're allowed to venture outside the box into fantasy world and pipe-dream lalalands, I'll put forth an unusual choice: Barack Obama. Remember back in the day when people thought he might actually save online poker because he actually played it? Let's see what kind of game he has. Those who like him will root for him, those who don't like him will pull for him to get cold-decked, but damn it, that would be some good watchin'!

Barack Obama? He would be an amazing guest on 60 minutes and you think he would do a poker show with like shaun deeb and doug polk on a streaming service for tablets? Make it so.


I hope they edit the show well. I dont just want to watch a 6 hour live stream. Edit it well like they did on HSP and you have something. Get some of the guys who havent been playing big tournies like Doyle. Would love to see Doyle again.

I would guess they will only lightly edit it, unless Mori is looking to change the overall philosophy of the show. The idea behind PAD was to be a poker version of Dinner For Five. So show every hand, and let the table conversation be the primary content. You never know, though... with PNIA now taking over the table-chatter niche of TV poker, maybe the move would be turn PAD into something closer to HSP.

This said, I actually enjoyed the every-hand characteristic of PAD. You get a clearer picture of the game's dynamics than when you only see a highlight reel.

In all seriousness, though... would it make sense to try one episode with all non-poker celebrities? (Or maybe one big-name pro plus five celebs?) I'm not talking a rehash of a Celebrity Poker Showdown dumpster fire, mind you, because we'd at least want players who have some semblance of skills.

So yeah, James Woods, Don Cheadle, Jennifer Tilly, Kevin Hart, Kevin Pollak, perhaps Ben Affleck AND Matt Damon. I'd say Tobey Maguire, who supposedly is one of the better celeb players, but he has never appeared in any of the various opportunities (e.g. NBC Heads-Up, CPS) before.

It was pretty fun having WSOP coverage to watch every (other) night, for a whole month - and having extended coverage of the Main Event was especially great

Doug and dnegs are basically a lock to be on the show often. Should be interesting.

Looking back at old episodes of PAD and HSP, those traits seem like prerequisites to get into the game.

I would mind it if they rounded up some old-school guys playing meaningless stakes while they tell stories about the days of yore.
