Phil Hellmuth vs. Jason Koon is set to go. Each one epitomizes their respected playing philosophies.

Koon should mop the floor with Hellmuth, but white magic is very strong. Let's see.

Wish PokerGo could have a great match up like this every week instead of once every 3-5 months. But instead the only regular content they can bring us are extremely boring $5/10 "No Gamble No FuTurE" lineups where the money is completely meaningless and no one is taking the game seriously at all. Also it's sad that their production is so shaky that for whatever reason they have to prerecord these heads up matches a day in advance and carefully edit them together instead of having the technology/ commentary to do it simply on a delay. Granted, maybe people liked a finish product and didn't like actually waiting for action to resume during the breaks.

Once a week is too often but should get off the ground more frequently

I’ve defended PokerGO a lot in past but it’s really going down hill. No one wants to watch a 5/10 game. There’s also no mixed games anywhere

And can’t imagine anyone who likes watching those 10K poker go cups or whatever they are with foxen and bonomo and rest of those guys

Matt Berkey just gave someone 100 to 1 that no matter what happens, Hellmuth will not give Jason Koon a rematch.

100 to 1 is absurd, nearly as absurd as his 1k bet with Landon that he will be able to dunk on a regulation rim (he's 40, 6' tall and hasn't dunked in 20 years...)

With the buyin doubling every round and the need to win 3 to cash out, it seems that the buyin will get to a point where it's not worth it to play. If they have a rematch, the next buyin is $1.6 million.

Update [spoiler alert]

Koon got smashed by the deck

And Helmuth mistimed a load of zoom zoom plays

And the deck hit Koon some more

It was an easy win for Koon

Some free coverage of the Hellmuth Koon match (about one hour's worth).
The match starts about the 19:30 minute mark.

Helmuth's not paying $1.6m for a rematch

Agree

Koon played better than PH but also Koon went home black and blue from how often the deck smacked him. Seemed like everytime Koon made a "good call" on a PH play on the turn, Koon improved on the river.

Others may have lasted longer/done better but no one was beating Koon with these cards.

Surprise was no classic PH blow up. Plenty of F bombs but not real blow up.

I suspect he does but doubt he does it. More likely he sells at least 75% @ 1.2 or better and still sells out easy.

The way the cards ran, Koon was winning against anyone. Others would have lasted longer and made it closer but the deck just beat the crap out of Koon.

Agree it's absurd to give 100 to 1 but I'd be shocked if Helmuth signs up for more abuse at 1.6 million.

I think the dunking bet is a wash if Landon also doesn't dunk.
