This thread reminds me of IvanHaldi(Russia) who finished 2nd for $35.7k in a TCOOP event on Jan 23rd 2016. He was accused of being a bot while the game was halted for negotiations on the Final Table. That was the last game IvanHaldi ever played on pokerstars.

Chipleaders at MTT's typically have significantly higher EV than ICM would indicate due to that player having a much higher chipsgainedEV per future hand than other players due to the dynamics of laddering and payjumps. I may not be explaining it well enough, but a chipleader can leverage his chip stack way better if there has been no chop, and ICM assumes that each player is trying to win, not maximize their EV, which is not actually true.


A good way to think of it is, if at a FT they ran the numbers and then decided not to chop, then played 30 more hands and ran the numbers again, how would we expect those numbers to change on average. It would only be the same if every player's exclusive goal was to get 1st.

Lftgjc was accused of being ghosted when winning the Sunday Million on October 1, 2018 for $142k. Pokerstars investigated. He was cleared of wrongdoing after a thorough Pokerstars investigation.

Seems like there's no founding to these allegations at all, apart from the assumption that he's backed and from Brazil, so he must be cheating. I'm not a great poker player, just slightly over break even, but I know how to apply pressure with a big stack on a final table. Just because this guy ran over the FT doesn't mean he was ghosted. It's a pity his big moment was marred by a sore loser.

Oh and the "ghosting is -EV for us" is practically an admission of guilt. As if a low ABI player is likely to ever play such a spot in his life again. It's such a high equity low frequency spot that if you really think ghosting is -EV you're the dumbest stable tumor ever. And **** you for advertising while making this statement as well.

Why are people pissed standarbacking responded to allegations? Poeple accuse them of something and ask for an investigation and they when they are cleared people go "lol it's pretty lame to post you got cleared/**** response/blahblah"... IMO, if the man was being ghosted by his "boss", he would not have called him only for the FT, he would ev called the boss much sooner. And that TT call on the FT stone bubble is pretty terrible, so I'm not sure. As said before, Im a pretty **** player and anyone can be a big stack bully when the payjumps are big. I don't think you need to be an MTT master to open wider and c-bet every flop when u have that chip stack... Just my 2 cents.

Shipping it all to the Isle of Man seems excessive. Instead, there should be an international rapid response force whereby PokerStars dispatches an elite ninja squad whenever someone makes the final table of a large event.

They could spy upon players from a distance, and then, if there was any detected misbehaviour, they could launch through the window to catch people cheating in the act. Sort of like Papal Ninjas but for online poker. Then PokerStars can truly live up to the expectations of some players in being the global internet police.
