- Deals are a complete ego dispute most of the time. It's quite common for people to reject very good deals just because someone said "I want more because I'm better", so it's totally plausible that even a low stakes player might reject a deal when a shorter stack is asking for more. Specially when you've already secured a huge prize.

- What if his backer was giving him advice during the deal? Nothing wrong with that and it's also super common for obvious reasons.

They just divide the money up thats left in the account with the players that he played against. The whole tourney probably got a refund. Think about how much harder it would be to ladder everyone up one spot and pay them you'd have to manually do it... Not to mention they aren't refunding 1st place money, they are refunding whatever balance the player had in their account.

To be fair it might not have been him that banned you, all of the mods are friendo's there. This whole situation seems ridiculous to me, throwing around accusations with 0 proof is crazy and theres no way stars could really detect he was ghosting unless they did something incredibly dumb like login to the account from a seperate IP half way through the tournament.

He probably realizes that he broke the same TOS and doesn't want his account banned too.

Lex does this on stream everyday, I don't think this is against TOS at all.

It is not against the rules to look at those stats whilst playing.

A lot to comment on from this thread, but I'll give a quick address to the situation and some of the things people have brought up.

1) Some people don't understand negotiating and ev. I felt I could argue I was the best player remaining, so I don't want to take ICM straight up. I wanted more $. People keep joking "Omg he said he deserved more. what an entitled ****." reads to me as, "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE". Just negotiating. I'd have gambol'd if we didn't, and would have been comfortable with the response.

2) Some people have said "omg he says 5abi when his abi is 12." My abi for 2018 is 60+, and for the month of September was ~100. I wouldn't look at lifetime results as cannon. Everybody sucked at some point in their poker career. Sometimes people improve.

3) My allegations still stand that I think he could have been ghosted. Obviously there's no way to prove it. And I'm aware nothing he did was that out of the norm/that gangster. But things always look easier when you have all the information. At the very least he was discussing with his coaches, which was evident in his deal negotiations. That asking for 1.2k on top was gangster and I love it, but I don't think Luiz got that idea on his own. Again, not against the rules to have someone suggest something like that.

I deleted my tweet because I realized the refund probably had to do with all the Smart Backing stuff. I just thought correlation was causation, and me not being able to send $ meant it was him being banned. I realized it's probably not the case, so the tweet wasn't factual/fair. I also deleted my comments on reddit because the people I was discussing/arguing with were saying **** like I deserve to die and that I was a "snitch". This isn't the type of people I want to converse with or try to discuss the situation with. I did definitely jump the gun on the tweet and regret it.


I think the clearest case that he probably wasn't ghosted though was the absolute dumpster fire of a call on the FT bubble with TT.

After the FT was done I reviewed my allegations since some people in chat brought it up. I wasn't upset or angry. I'm aware it happens regularly and odds are nothing will be done about it. I felt like submitting an email was a minimal effort thing to do, so it's what I did.

To all those that think "omg he's entitled" or "Omg he's jealous", anything I say probably won't change your mind. I'm honestly pretty ecstatic about the result. I got my first 6 figure online score. I'm ending my stay in New Zealand on the highest note you can for poker. I'm super excited for the future. I do feel like the way you guys have handled this isn't how you should have. Whoever is the manager of the social media accounts probably doesn't have much experience with public relations. You should address the situation, give an update on Luiz and his account, and say something along the lines of "We're innocent, and Pokerstars will find that true in their investigations." Could maybe even say something on your stance on ghosting and how you hold integrity amongst your stable players/coaches. Just going around spamming a imgur of me deleting my comments doesn't strengthen or weaken my argument. I dunno I just felt like giving my 2 cents on the matter.

The e-mail wasn't the main issue. You started a social media campaign against him and Standard Backing without a shred of evidence to back it up.

This makes the below comment even more hilarious.

Can you answer the allegation that you are using your powers on another site to ban discussion of your conduct?

Just wanted to point out something probably pretty obvious, but ICM doesn't do a good job of predicting equity when someone has a big stack, so if you try to claim more equity than the ICM model would predict you have...well you probably should.

Could be wrong haven't played poker in nearly a decade and I wasn't much good at it, never made a deal in an MTT.
