Even in mid-small stakes it’s happening almost always if there are backed players at the FT. It’s not hard to figure out the ethical dynamics of stables when guys are in make up and desperate and stables owners want returns on their investment

Recs {customers} not getting a fair game should be a calamitous situation where the regs do whatever they can to rectify the situation. But they don’t it’s just “oh standard just keep ****ing the recs as hard as u can bro”

even a ****ing inbred chimp could do that in a small period of time. given the access to FULL statistics pokerstars has this could be done in 10 minutes.

pokerstars support just doesnt give a **** about cheating anymore, thats a FACT.
Chimps eat each others lice, I doubt they could do what you're suggesting.

Final table ghosting is a different thing though as it seems to make sense for the people doing it.

Here you go.
No - This post above is not accurate.

Lee Jones made some posts to that effect more than ten years ago, but since the early 2010s, PokerStars has consistently required that each account is played by only one player, and that each player may only play on one account.

Indeed, PokerStars - such as in the email that was posted above, say that they "do prohibit deliberate paid services where the intent is very different. Such a service is materially and fundamentally different from ad hoc and opportunistic arrangements whereby one player might have a friend standing behind him and providing advice. Such a service would also be different to coaching services offering instruction based upon hands and tournaments that have already taken place. PokerStars allows coaching after-the-fact, but does not permit ongoing and planned real-time paid services."

That's not true at all.

I recognise that it is a hard rule to enforce, and it is difficult to prove a breach.

They explained it years ago when one of the stars pros who twitch stream had a friend discussing how to play hands (cannot recall who did it first to start controversy) I believe.
Look at the quoted email from the Twitter, which also says:
"
Of course, there is no way to control where that player might get advice from; if they have a book in front of them that details how to play a hand in a particular way, we do not prohibit that. Similarly, if they have someone by their side (or on the phone or whatever) giving them advice as part of some unplanned, ad-hoc, arrangement, this is not against our rules.

We certainly are not going to prohibit a friend watching and providing some casual advice at home."

No, it hasn't.

I'm surprised that this hasn't been published on the forum before. I expect that there are probably posts/announcements from PokerStars staff about the procedure that they use.

Not any proof though that is the reason he got refunded though, if it was then how come he only gets back $112.50?

If that account was actually banned/confiscated I am shocked. Any confirmation from social media?

Isn't the thing that ghosting isn't even against TOS? Thus he can't have been snatched for ghosting, but they must've found something else. Like legit VPN'ining into the account by another player or something

Getting ad hoc advice is fine. Getting a paid stable runner to tell you what to do is not fine, according to TOS.

This wasn't PokerStars position since the early 2010s.

They may have changed to allow ghosting in the last year or two, but if they have, I see no announcement of that.

If this proves to be banning and confiscation because final table was ghosted and they have way to prove it with some type investigation.

Theoretically anyone who have received funds from standard backing account and had big score might get investigated same way this case was investigated.
Probably will not happen but still.

lol sample size. No way any of this stuff can be determined on a big final table

This was suggestion from Ryan how to determine ghosting.

huge +1 to what protentialmn says, its not hard for stars to investigate an account like this and come to the correct conclusion. While sites allow staking companies to operate, ghosting will happen at almost every final table online. Stars needs to step up and ban them all. There are many other things that they all do that are as bad as ghosting too.

Who are the owners of standardbacking? They need to be outed and shunned from the community.

There is a decent chance that Stars investigated, and the stable said “ya, whats the problem?”.

it is also hard to detect bots and they try their best. imo ghosting goes to the same magnitude of betrayal towards honest players so they should do all they can to detect ghosting and ban those people. battling your way to the final table just to have a mediocre reg replaced by a goat lol.

If they're Brazilian, they're most likely ghosted. It's just how it is.

This is nonsense. My play style could / should vary widely from early-late stage for legit reasons. For example I play LAG early then make FT where prize money is very meaningful to me so nit it up to ladder up. Conversely I may play solid early stages then at FT notice others are playing too tight because of of pay jumps so start playing LAG to exploit.

The key thing for me here is comparing with accounts from the same staking company (which they can surmise by looking at p2p transfers etc.) over different FTs and finding that there is a "house style" for FT play in big tournaments which doesn't exist at other levels.

If it's just "different play style" then it's difficult, or as the cool kids say "problematic". For example I personally have 20K euros still to go on my mortgage. If I ever get to a stage in the Sunday Million where I have 20K euros locked up, my play style is suddenly going to change a lot for reasons that are perfectly innocent but people looking at HHs and stats have no way of knowing based on just the pay table, stack sizes etc.
