imo you either post a long tweet putting your best public case forward, or something simple like "i can't talk specifics due to pending legal actions, but absolutely deny these allegations." this tweener tweet strains credulity.
his parenthetical ("it was a late night") seems an attempt to explain/justify his terrible "first instinct" to take the bag off premises, but it makes his story even less sensical: you've just wrapped play for the day, it's a late night, and you have another grueling donkament day ahead of you tomorrow. instead of instantly resolving the situation by alerting encore staff and getting some sleep, your first instinct is to take the bag to the cosmo and play detective all night so you can maybe connect (via "mutual friends") to "perhaps meet them somewhere on the strip"? come again?
Yeah, high probability there was ~$20K in there. His only goal should be making sure he isn't legally prosecuted which would be difficult to do at this point. He can't prove there wasn't $20K in there so his reputation will be damaged no matter what. If he didn't take it that's an egregious injustice. Which is why people are probably giving him the benefit of the doubt more than the facts would suggest.
He seems like a nice person but nice people do bad things all the time. Especially when they are in financial trouble.
The one thing that makes me question if he took the money is that he is a smart guy who knows casinos have cameras all over the place. That's a pretty bold move to take $19K knowing you'll be identified as the guy who had the bag. Was he really willing to risk the his word vs my word for only $19K?
Lastly, does it make sense for Zinno to leave with the bag & then come back to the casino before 6:45 AM knowing he had to play a Day 2 that same day? He seems more concerned with this bag than he does with getting sleep.
