It looks in John Daly’s world, that is considered sound financial planning.

The thing that really kills me is that it is supposedly based on the short story of the same name by Dostoyevsky, but has nothing in common with that story besides the name. Completely different.

(now if you want the greatest gambling novella about descent into degeneracy, I highly recommend the Dostoyevsky story although it isn't the easiest of reads...)

a few folks already said it, but definitely 'Owning Mahowney'. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is the balls in that movie. Plus, it's based on a true story.

"California Split" is IMO the best addicted gambler movie of all time......

"The Croupier" is very cool because its shows degenerate gamblers from the dealer's point of view
