Given my excitement when hot topics hit NVG I was hoping they could sign Doug Lee, Mike the airport fraud, Trooper for sure, Kassouf for chat screen shots, and Eli for a bit of balance.

You're suggesting that a group of shameless sellouts suddenly found their principles and discovered that they work for a horrible company. After years of not caring about all the other times their employer made awful anti-player decisions. And maybe that they conspired together to do it at the same time? This is not consistent with their character and requires leaps of speculation.

Occam's Razor imo
This. Stars is allready focusing more and more on spraggy (and his sidekick). They have him playing videogames with staples atm. Allso they have the biggest name of twitch poker in the stable allso.

Jaime said they offered him a new contract.

I always wondered if as a serious poker player its even feasible to just solely play Stars. I mean Stars would have to pay enough to cover for that fact. Spraggy had is stats visible and playing only Stars wouldnt cover living expenses. So the rest has to come from savings, twitch and Stars endorsement.

Well tbh spraggy ain't that good. He made like 30k in threee years right? He used to be a good bumhunter in hu that I can say. Checked the scope he is up ~12k after signing with stars in septempber 2017.

E and atleast somepoint he said he is more a streamer these days. And hit 1k subs like a moth ago?

What would a typical contract with Stars or Party poker pay? $50k a year? Or would it be a "x% rakeback + x number of free buyins" type deal? Some combination of the two?

Most Stars pro's will have 100% rakeback + X amount of live buyins and travel expenses for said live tournaments. I've seen one contract that was exactly this.

I just noticed that Barry Greenstein is no longer listed as a team pro. Is this a new or is it something I missed?

Jake Cody the latest to go...

From his insta:

was a little hesitant to post this as I don’t really like these dramatic-type posts but I was looking through some old photos and couldn’t help but smile and felt motivated to post something to thank everyone if anything, as I’m feeling very grateful.
Back in 2013 I signed with PokerStars and I was announced in January at PCA as part of Team Pro, which at the time really was the clear pinnacle of poker endorsements. One of my proudest moments ever. It was also kind of fitting that the most recent PCA event turned out to be my last.
It’s hard to find the right words to justify it but I had THE most amazing and unforgettable time and cannot thank them enough for the opportunity and people who I have met and the memories I have made over the years.
It was 6 years and over half of my twenties, Pokerstars has been a huge part of my life.
They company went through some huge changes over the past few years and they have had a lot of rightly deserved critics during most of my time there but I can guarantee you there was ALWAYS lots of people throughout the entire company who were fighting extremely hard for the best interests of the poker community. A lot of those battles were lost and a lot of people left the because of it.
There’s really too many people to name everyone, but I do want to give a special thank you to John Caldwell the man who originally signed me and to both Kirsty Thompson and Dave Curtis who always had faith in me and had my back in every situation from day one.
From the bottom of my heart a huge thank you to everyone I met along the way, friends I made in and out of Stars and everyone who supported me.

Big love and see you all around ❤️

And to think, it all happened because he 5bet shoved 104 off pre at the PCA and sucked out on KK for a huge double up (can't remember the exact hands, but there's almost certainly a video of it though).

By the way, that Jamie/Chests video is so ridic, I would have assumed it was meant to be a spoof of the CS:GO Lotto vids that Trevor Martin made years ago. But then the Mystery Box vids surfaced earlier this year. So I guess that must be a thing with the crate/box/chest type of promotion.
