20% would be safe enough for me and I am ready to make it one or more times with my life-roll, being ready to lose that much to all of it with these odds. The Kelly might be about the long run rather than about a single optimal bet and it isn't playing with its life. My kelly here is the same as the odds of losing but I wouldn't bet 40% of my money on 10% odds of losing.
